I have been taking Cads out with my pack twice a day and then once on his own to try and assess how he is in different situations. So far we have encountered cars and lorries, horses, cows and donkey, other dogs and new faces with Chris's carers. He has taken it all in his stride. He is now seeking me out for cuddles but it will probably need a few weeks before he bonds with me. He has started to show interest at dogs in the distance and has been ok meeting my cousins lurcher, if he was off lead there would've been a play session I think. He has started to show a playful side. I've not seen any distructive side, no chewing although he did counter surf today and nicked some chicken (lesson learnt!) out on our morning jaunt. He walks well on a short lead but I like to give him space to explore.

Hi Lenny and Badger, Cadbury is 3 years old. Not sure why 15 months was put on the website.

Cads came out on a mega walk today. He took everything in his stride. There were ducks, geese and swans, lots of children and cyclist...not interested. He is happy for strangers to say hello and stroke him, both big and little people. He wasn't keen on getting in the stream to cool off or eating icecream ....all new to him i imagine. Still very positive reactions to other dogs, I think if he was off lead he would go over to play. He has had a couple of incidents of marking/peeing in the house but in general will go in outside. He hasn't had a poo in the garden but gets quite unsettled if he needs to go so we have been doing a quick walk around the block so he can empty. I'm getting lots of cuddles

So we've had some roaching action today, so sorryI didn't capture it but I will stoke your imagination. Cadbury come to have a siesta with me (I think I am coming down with Neil's lurgy) I turned over to a full Superman roach! Unfortunately I had a view from bottom end so I had a full eyefull of something that will be no longer there on Weds It has been burnt in to my memory! but I am so happy because for me the best sign a dog has relaxed is a good old roach.

I agree... you know they are relaxed and happy when they roach, especially when they are snuggled up to you.

What a lovely sight that must have been for you hun. Seriously though - great news that Cadbury is relaxed enough for a full-on roach.
