A bit more about dave: Loveable sweet natured lad. Loves Playing, running around at top speed, tennis balls. Frisbees, Is shy of other dogs but when he gets to know them he comes out of his shell. Adores Doris and she him. They spend a lot of time being affectionate with each other in between bonkers chasing games. He likes to cuddle up with his head on her bum. Loves food and is very food motivated. His recall is ok, can get him to come back with balls or treat. He doesn't stray far. He does like rabbits though. I tend not to let him off the lead when there are lots around so never put him to the test. Seems fine around horses and sheep. There are a lot round here. Like Shoes glasses but is getting very much better about this. Cuddling. very affectionate. Walks well on the lead but can be frightened of buses and fast cars. Fine with strangers. Gets a lot of fuss because he is so handsome. Great in the car. Loves toys and will happily play by himself if no one else is available. Dislikes Barks at the cat next door. Doesn't like being left alone. I had started training him up, and filled kongs ect seem to work well. He does sleep well on his own at night. Only starts crying if we get up really late. Will not go upstairs. This boy deserves a special home. I'll try to upload more photos later.

It's such a shame that it's not worked out. Here's hoping someone will come along soon to adopt him.

So sorry it didn't work out for Dave. The heart says yes but head very wisely says no Resident dogs always come first and you can't risk Dottie getting hurt even if it's only through play. So the next best thing is being loved to bits until his new forever home is found. I'm sure it's just around the corner.

Just a few more things about Dave. He will happily share water bowls food bowls and chews with Doris. They often walk along holding the same toy. He is very obedient. If you tell him off he will run back to you with his bottom down, wagging until he knows you aren't upset with him. He doesn't need stern treatment. I think someone has been rough with him in the past and he gets scared if we shout at Doris (she takes no notice). He has coped wonderfully with the many guests we have had staying recently. I often come in to the living room to find him cuddled up with assorted guests. Everyone thinks he is a dog in a million.

Davey Dog Blog!Well, have I had an adventure today!!! You wouldn't believe what I've been up to. Started out by going with the humans and Doris to a place where there were lots of people and cars. Then this new human came up to us. She stroked Doris and was watching me. Not sure what she was doing but she smelt OK and she had some yummy treats so I didn't mind getting into her car. I said goodbye to Doris and the humans and laid down for a sleep for a long time until we stopped at this new place. The Human took me for a nice walk and I was able to explore all the new smells. The next bit was exciting. I went into TH's garden. It's great! Loads of things to smell and check out. I could hear dogs inside crying... they obviously wanted to see who the handsome new boy on the block was! First out was Alice... she's cute . She went all silly with me and started licking my face ... think I've scored there! Next was Comet. We did some mutual sniffing and he jumped about a bit and the three of us wandered round the garden together. Last up was Daisy. She's like my mum! She's pretty in a sort of podgy way. She liked me and kept wagging her tail at me. We all spent some time in the garden and then I decided I would look indoors to see what it was like. Daisy and Comet went upstairs but I'm not sure about stairs so I stayed downstairs and Alice stayed with me. TH went upstairs as well but I was OK about this because I was with Alice. It's all a bit new and different here, but I'm loving having 3 doggy friends to play with. More news to follow... this is me exploring in the garden. Wonder where I'll sleep tonight!

Hugest of thanks to Christine. We decided that to get Dave the best chance of that forever home Christine would take him on. Dom did a great job, but Doris couldn't handle instigating rough play and then panicked when Dave was OTT. Dave will learn from the biguns that you play on their terms. xx

Thanks so much Christine. Looks like we are missing him a lot more than he's missing us. Great that he's making new friends. He'll always be my baby a bit too though.

Davey Dog Blog!Chilling out in the sunWell it's all good here. Slept well last night and gave The Human a nice welcome this morning. She was pretty chilled about it but she said it was something to do with not encouraging separation anxiety, whatever that is! Went for a long walk with Daisy and TH said I walked very nice on the lead beside her once she got me used to what was expected. I was happy to be out walking and got a bit enthusiastic about walking in front but TH said I had to walk beside her, like Daisy. Easy peasy... did that! I've been lying out in the garden with the others. They all seem to lie on these pad things but I wasn't sure about them. TH said I'll get the hang of them soon and won't want to lie on the hard ground. It's good fun here... Alice likes to play and she's a bit "vocal"... she makes all these grrrring sounds and barks at things going by outside. TH doesn't seem to mind as long as the others don't join in and get carried away. I think I might try being vocal and see what happens. TH says I've got very pretty eyeliner... not sure about that. Sounds a bit girlie to me, but she says that people will think I'm handsome so I guess it's OK. What do you think? Do my eyes look good like this? Maybe I'll get TH to take more photos of my eyes to show them off.
