Yep. I hate plates, but the leg was so bad they had to put one in. That won't be comfortable either until the leg is stable. Casey is a star and I know this is hard for her and she feels she is going backwards as well as forwards. It's the worst thing in the world having to restrict a young dog. x

Hi Casey, how is Olive getting on? I should imagine she'll be able to get more active soon.

Hi. We are now taking Olive out for 4 walks a day and she is walking a lot better but is still limping The sores have cleared up and her coat is now lovely. Olive is having the leg x-rayed again a week on Thursday and I really hope she will be able to have a play in the garden soon as she is getting so frustrated. Olive enjoys her walks but I'm not sure that she has been out before as she is very tense and scared. I've been meeting up with my Mum so she can get used to new people when we are out and Olive has quickly learned the pocket the treats are kept in!!

She looks so much better KC. Her body language isn't closed down. Bebe limped for a while after getting her cast off, I think it was more out of habit than any discomfort. Bebe also had a plate which really stablized her break. She really is a dear little soul, I hope her confidence grows as she can explore more of the world and have positive experiences.

Some great news for Olive, after her x-ray yesterday the vet is now happy with her leg and she has been discharged. She can now have 5 minutes off lead per day in the back garden building this up over the next month. I wish I'd got a video of her first off-lead experience in the garden as I've never seen a dog so happy to be able to run about Olive and Finley on the way to the fun day
