I took Olive out in the garden after lunch and she plonked herself down in the sun and didn't want to move. She's getting the hang of the good life now OMG. BEAUTIFUL. XXX

Beautiful and heart-melting. The way that Olive is holding her head, that look on her face of, 'You will not break my spirit, I WILL make it through despite you all',, reminds me so much of a photo that was posted when Rachel's Ginny first came into SLR. That look got right into my soul then and it still does now. Bless you Olive, you really don't have to make it alone any longer

No much to tell you about Olive at the moment only that she is having her leg x-rayed this Thursday and I'm really hoping that she won't need the splint and bandages any more. She's getting frustrated in the crate and really needs new experiences and to start learning about the world and meeting new people. A few photos of Olive in the garden at the weekend

Wow! what a difference from when she was first photographed. Olive's coat is glossy and she doesn't have that haunted look anymore. Well done to KC Fingers crossed for Thursday when hopefully she'll get the ok for the splint removal and she can gently build those atrophied muscles.

Olive had her leg x-rayed yesterday and unfortunately it isn't healing as quickly as hoped but the vet has decided it's best to remove the cast as her skin is getting very sore and also to try and start building the muscle and strengthen the bone by using is. We have to take Olive on 3 or 4 slow controlled walks for 5-10 minutes per day. This will also help her with her socialisation as it has become clear she really doesn't know much about the world. I'm really feeling so sad for Olive at the moment I know she's come a long way already but it still feels like she's got a long way to go and I want her to be out in the garden enjoying the sun not stuck in the crate Look at that beautiful face

Aww bless her. She will feel so much freer without that cast. Hope the sunshine helps her bones to heal. Poor pup she should be running round exploring her world.

Aw bless her. It takes about 6 weeks for bones to start to knit properly, did Olive have a plate? I know you must feel really sad for Olive, Casey but you really are giving her the opportunity of a better life, she will recover and become the fun loving dog she was meant to be, just be patient. It's hard but she is 100% better off with you, even being restricted...it's tough love.

Lovely Olive will get there in the end, and we'll all be cheering when she does.

Just look at those eyes. There is something very special about this girlie Casey you are doing a brilliant job. More than anything Olive needs to feel safe and to feel loved - and you are fulfilling both of those criteria in bucketloads All continue-healing vibes winging their way to Olive
