It is now two months since Evie had her broken leg reset and she is back to the vets tomorrow where her leg will be x rayed under anaesthetic. It will be a huge relief to me to hear all is ok. She has been bursting with energy over the last few weeks and really does need to stretch her legs and have some fun running round with the others. She will be neutered at the same time, so unfortunately even if the leg is ok she will still not be allowed off lead for a while. I can't wait to see her running free. Click on photo to enlarge.

Lots of healing vibes for lovely Evie.
Hope the X-rays show good healing, and the spaying is trouble free.

Sykes is VERY impressed with Evie on meeting her at the pub today.
A bit TOO impressed, I have to apologise on his behalf. I had to keep removing him from Evie's presence and ask him to go lie down but he has the memory of a goldfish and every now and then he'd be all 'Hellooo-ooo...' again.
Mind you, Evie is a bit of a stunner.

Thinking of Evie today - and of you too Elaine. Everything crossed for a smooth op and 'all healing well' x-rays

I collected Evie from the vets this afternoon. I was shown again the xrays taken when she was first admitted and then shown the exrays taken today. The front bone of the leg is 97% back to how it should be and the rear bone needs a little longer to repair, but this is exactly what was expected as it is the front bone that does all the work and is the main support for the leg.
So all going to plan. Because Evie is a 'Lurcher' we have to be extra vigilant and not rush the healing process. I must admit I was a little disappointed, never having cared for a dog with a broken leg previously, I half hoped I would be told today that Evie could be allowed off lead and be back to normal. Never mind, there is no point in working hard to keep her fit and happy for two months and then waste all that effort and allow her to run round and undo all the healing.
Evie was also neutered today whilst under the anaesthetic so she has been asleep most of the time since we got home. She has been to the toilet and ate all her tea. I will take her for a quick walk round the garden later and sleep downstairs with her to make sure all ok.

Wishing Evie every healing vibe and gentle hugs. I am going to have lessons in patience whilst our new foster girl, Bebe's leg heals.
