... patience ... Any news on a home for Albert or are you still a two-foster household at the moment? Patience? Sometimes not. I don't think VOICE OF DOOM is covered in the behaviourist manual... Albert is still here. I'll update his thread when I've something other than 'he's such a lovely dog' to say. Hope it's not long!

With Albert 'gone', I hope to give more time to Patxi and updating his thread and spare hands to take photos. Had a little time to play and relax before friend's arrived last Friday. A few pics thereof.

Evening snuggle. We need a bigger couch! Note that in that second photo, Patxi's on me and Ringo. Patxi asked nicely to come up, onto me and then spread out onto Ringo. He wasn't fussy, pushing or tarty about it. As proof, Ringo didn't mind, even seemed quite cozy about it. Ringo doesn't do proximity to other dogs. Too much like fun and he can't be allowing too much of that! We'd also not been out at that point, so pees and pooz were awaiting. Patxi is soaking in the calm very nicely. Dare I mention he's also been off lead in the field? His recall is under assessment...

As his former owner, I'm really happy to see that he is making progress. Albeit gutted that he isn't with us!
Some of the problems mentioned in previous posts, such as barking weren't a problem with us so it was a surprise to see that he had suddenly become a barker. He never even barked at tradesmen when they came into the house!
I saw you mention recall. When we let him off the lead in the fields near our house we had two commands.
The first a sharp 'Patxi. Come!' is normally enough. Otherwise walking away from him and say 'Bye bye!' worked without fail.
Good luck!

Patxi is becoming rather cute. Many folks said he was from day one, but I was considering how to deal with the barking and make him adoptable, and cute didn't figure highly. Now the barking's subsiding, I see the cutey fluff bundle emerging. He has many fans at my work. Here's my colleague, when we went of a short walk around the block at lunchtime today. I think he's in deep thought about how he can arrange his life fit Patxi into it. He and two other colleagues are pushing for a doggy creche at work!

Ringo's getting on betterer and betterer with Patxi. That's a big compliment and plus score for Patxi, because of Ringo's lack of playful graces. If you've met Ringo on an SLR walk and seen him fun-police other dogs play or 'try' to play with another dog, but sounding and looking like a wild, crazed beast,,, you'll know how well Patxi's doing. Out on walks, Ringo plays as much with Patxi as Joey does, if not more, especially racey chasey. Patxi's stature belies with strength and he has no fear of Ringo. Actually, Patxi is very confident in every situation he's come across previously and doesn't take long to get to grips with new ones. Snuggle buddies. EDIT: Just realised that that photo makes Patxi look bigger than Ringo. That's simply the camera angle/view-point. Here's a better representation.

Your Ringo is absolutely brilliant with Paxti, Simon, and they seem to have become best friends. Just lovely.
