Now being fostered in sunny Devon with 1 male Lurcher and two female with Toni. - Little Emma (around 17" to the shoulder) was rehomed in November last year to a retired couple. They love her very much but have found that having a lively pup around them was more than they thought it would be. We have to emphasize to people that Lurcher pups, even when they are whippet x's are lively and are hard work. Emma loves to run and be with other dogs. She is well socialized, but they feel that they cannot devote the walking and exercise regime that she really needs. She loves the sofa. Has been sleeping in the bedroom and is just a general all round lovable pup. A few photos from her relinquishing mum and dad below.

A lovely little thing. She travelled very well in the car on her journey across the country. Just sat and looked out of the window most of the time. Very cuddly on handover. I think she will make a super family dog - the kind who loves mucking in with whatever is going on.

Emma has landed and after a nice long walk along West Bay beach with my three and Loz and Andrew she is now in her foster home. Tea eaten, peed and pood in the garden and currently going mad with Lottie , I am hoping that once the novelty of having a play partner ie Lottie has worn off a bit we will find the off switch. She is a really sweet and friendly little girl. She would really suit a young family with kids and another hound to play with, she loves life and just wants to make the most of it xxx

I'll have a few pics to add tomorrow. Going to run out of time/energy tonight by the time we're sorted the crate out.

Well what can I say about this little whirlwind that has entered our house!!! She is as bright as a button, as sharp as a knife, very affectionate and hasn't a bad bone in her body. If you like intelligent high octane in a small package with an occasional off switch then she is the one for you. She has been totally clean in the house, she likes slippers , she slept in her crate last night with the door open until 6am !! I had to guide her back in a couple of times, but she soon got the idea. So far her only down side is that she pulls like a train on the lead, but because she so quick to pick things up I don't think it will take her long to walk nicely. I actually think she could be Italian Greyhound x rather than Whippet, she is so like my Mothers IG's when they were Emma's age!! Here are some pics of the pocket rocket, BTW sheis a very good guard dog!! Frog dog

Huge thanks for taking her in Toni. Beautiful photos. Hopefully some good runs with the girls and she will settle to less busy.

Not sure what food she has been having, but lowering the protein may help calm her down. Also a figure-of-eight collar thingy perhaps. I know several people who had had amazing results with them.

Lovely photos Toni. She looks like she'd be a pocket rocker... she has that cheeky face. It's going to be fun hearing how she gets on with you and your pack... sounds like there may be some fun stories ahead I hope it's not too long before someone falls in love with her

She was on a kibble (not sure which) with Pedigree Chum as a mixers, so I'm sure once Toni gets her switched over to CSJ + Naturediet like her's are on, she might slow down a bit. Mind you, with terrier in her mix, she's never going to be the lazier of the type is she? I think she's make a great pair with the Fredster, don't you? Got a few pics here from yesterday on the beach. She was really hard to capture as always on the move! Tumpty tum...off to PB, back in a few minutes!

Enjoy a beachy photofest of Emma on the beach. I think she enjoyed it after all the travelling. With Finnegan in the fresh water stream - as Toni predicted, he just ignored Emma. Norty ear...and yes, she pulls like a train! Molly gobbing off...think this was a telling off...again, exactly as Toni predicted (this lady knows her dogs). 'You wanna play wid me Finny?' Having a breather... Back to pulling Saying 'hello' to Foster Mum Part of the pack With Lottie...future play mate

Funny you should say that Heather, we have just been for a 2.5 hour walk with some friends and the 3 of us had to take it in turns to hold her because she is so exhausting, roll on the day that she can go off lead . First part of operation no more pulling starts later today

Sent from my Nexus 7 using proboards That would be great if I could, but I think it may be too big for the little squirt, I was thinking of investing in k9 leader or dog headcollar

Wonderful to be able to follow this little girls progress and after hearing from the couple who had adopted Emma I can quite understand how difficult they found walking her. So sad, they were devastated. Let's hope as time goes by, perhaps by the end of the summer they might consider an older, quieter dog.
Emma certainly sounds that she's in lurcher heaven now.

I have a hound size dogmatic head collar (size 2) here but don't know if it would be too big.
