Saturday was the second anniversary of my darling Suki's passing, a day that is an emotional struggle to get through so rather than dwell on sad thoughts we decided to keep busy...buying plants in a nursery and going to a dog show both with young pupster. The visit to the nursery was lengthy with Phoebe wagging her tail at everyone we saw guaranteeing her lots of fuss and questions about her. Interestingly a couple of people were in no doubt her colouring comes from the Basset line. Anyway that aside, at the dog show so many people stopped us to ask about Phoebe, it felt like we were walking around with a celebrity! Feeling optimistic we entered Phoebe in to some classes, hopeful of a placing or even better a rosette to boost the day. Well it's official....we have a winner!! 1st in Prettiest Girl and 2nd in Judge's Favourite and SLR were mentioned over the tannoy each time too. I say that's a win win Being beautiful can be so tiring Not a day goes by when we don't miss Suki but Phoebe for lifting our spirits, putting the biggest smiles on our faces and turning a sad day in to a happy one

She's a little miracle and so like her mum. If a basset has been anywhere near that family I'm a monkey's uncle!!!!!!!! Perhaps we should get Laylah to have Ava DNA tested and see what they come up with - Sharpei, Mastiff, Giraffe perhaps???

With Ava's colouring they might come up with husky!

Hurrah! My laptop and Photobucket have started talking to each other again so at long last here's just a few of the many video clips I have of past and present of our ever growing water loving Gremlin pupster... Big Dog v Little Dog They got me a paddling pool! Boiiiiiiiiing..Splash..Boiiing..Splash... (After this one every inch of her was plastered in stinking bog muck so she swiftly found herself in a shampoo filled paddling pool, not before clambering all over the the inside of my car & shaking off in it )

If you hear something rustling in the undergrowth you better pray it's not the loony, swamp, jumping hound! Chaos prevails.

If you hear something rustling in the undergrowth you better pray it's not the loony, swamp, jumping hound! Chaos prevails. Most of the locals who walk where we do know Phoebe by the sound of the bells she wears and take cover when they hear her approaching One gent greets her with open arms though, he absolutely loves seeing her joy for life and she has such fun running around with his lab. She did manage to lurcher herself colliding sideways with a tree this morning but no damage done I'm so behind on updating her thread. I need her to sleep or behave more though to get that done so little to noooo chance however, the girls are devouring marrow bones at the moment so here goes... For those not on Facebook (who get to follow her ever growing list of exploits) here's an excerpt from last week in to life with Phoebe... Phoebe's diary, age 9 months minus 3 days :Had breakfast, went to the woods, did lots of zoomies & chased those pesky squirrels. Note to self : learn to climb trees or bounce higher. Kali had to watch cos she's not allowed off yet. Ya boo sucks to you Kali hahahaha Came home. Had a nap. Woke up. Bounced around the house. Chased Kali. Played King or rather Queen of the Castle/Chair with Kali, she won..*booo hiss*..she thinks it's her's now. Went to the woods again, ran about & came back. I'm such a good girl ☺ Some other stuff : Chew plant in Muvva's room ✓ Jump on Kali ✓ Chew tall plant in the garden (sounded like 'NOT THE MAG-NO-LIA!') ✓ Land on Rosie (She screamed. The big girl) ✓ Jump on Kali (Made her grumpy, made me laugh) ✓ Rip hole in Rosie's fave bed ✓ Chase Kali up the garden ✓ Chase Kali in the house ✓ Run around garden with rubbish bag ✓ Help Muvva with leaves..jump on them & the rakey-up thing ✓ Play tug-o-war with garden bag (Muvva said I has a strong grip) ✓ Run around & around & around & around the garden ✓ Run all over sofa with muddy paws ✓ Chew a thingy (Sounded like 'ceedee case'. They don't know if it was me or Kali but I know) ✓ Heard Muvva say she has a four legged pain in the bottom. Sounds nasty, I hope it gets better soon. Today is another good day She sure is a beauty if a very naughty one...

What fantastic videos! Phoebe is one very happy totally bonkers pup! Love her. are you going to risk a Christmas tree this year Sal? A decision was made quite early on to NOT have a tree this year. She brings in enough logs off the wood pile to chew on let alone what she'd probably do to one readily provided in the room, and all that's on it! Very happy totally bonkers sums her up pawfectly

Made me laugh - she knows how to enjoy life. Don't worry about getting other stuff done, 'boring' as Phoebe would probably say - just keep running through puddles. Nothing like a young dog to remind us how to live life to the full.
