i just love the updates, they look so settled together. I thought it was just greyhounds that were addictive, it seems lurchers are too!

Cor, bloomin' lovely girls, they could be sisters. Lovely update (we don't need to mention the little heart stopping event).

Wonderful news, the start of trust showing. For Tilly just to let you touch her is a big thing for her, well done Jean. She does like a chest rub but hands on the top of her head makes her worry a little.

The most important thing for her was another dog to bond with. It will be slow progress for her humans but she's already showing her willingness to try and the next few weeks will see a greater level of acceptance of touch. Keep up the good work all xx

We are looking forward to the walk on Sunday so that everyone who knows Tilly can say hello to her & Pip.

Oh bless! Now Gerald, I don't know what experience you have of being a hound slave, so forgive me if I'm telling you stuff you already know.
Don't be surprised if Tilly finds it somewhat overwhelming, especially with all the strange people.
If I may offer some advice, I would say to take it steady, stay on the periphery so that Tilly can take it all in at her own pace, and I'm sure she'll be fine. Don't feel that you have to say hello to everyone, and it's okay that Tilly doesn't have to either. The waiting around at the start of a walk can build a bit of tension/anticipation/excitement in many of the dogs, ours included, so we walk them away from the group and practice our 'watch me' with them to help take their minds off things.
Greta was very growly for the first few 'big' meets with other dogs as she was so unsure of what was happening. She has the odd grumble now, but we take control of the greetings and she's now fine.
The walks are a great way to socialise for you and Tilly/Pip so we're looking forward to seeing you all. x

Thank you Loz for your helpful advice, I am always open to suggestions.I have had a Lurcher for 12 Years, but not a nervous one like Tilly. All my other dogs ,over the years, have all been small ones but once you fall in love with a Lurcher it is for ever.
I spoke to Jenny the other day as well to see if she thought Tilly might benefit from the walk.
Hope to see you all on Sunday. We may not stay for Lunch, depending on Tilly
