This is great news, and I'm full of admiration for you Brenda! It's hard letting them go but what you've done is help prepare her for a confident and happy life ahead. I'm putting my money on Rod and Rhona too. I always felt it was just a matter of time before Rhona was worn down and seeing Tilly and Paddy together would melt anyone's resistance - Paddy is just the doggy companion she needs. Either way, I hope she's staying near you so you can get to see her, and Socks and Paddy can continue their friendship.

Keep guessing, she will not be coming here as much as Paddy would like it, never mind.

We are enjoying our last day with Tilly as, fingers crossed, she will be off to her forever home tomorrow. We went for a lovely walk over the fields first thing, followed by a trip to the vets where Socks was 'signed off' with his foot problem and then round to Paddy's for another play. She went straight into theiir house, ran round and round the garden with Paddy, and came in for treats from both Rod and Rona (she wouldn't have done this even two weeks ago). after a short rest she went back into the garden with Steve and then Rod for yet more play! We're so proud of her and thrilled for her as she learns that life can be fun and people are generally kind. We're back home now and she's just had her lunch and is snoozing on the armchair before this afternoon's walk. i'll post more tomorrow once she's met her new Mum, Dad and sister xx

This is such good news, but a sad time for you and Steve. Remember that you've done a wonderful thing in fostering Tilly and helping her overcome her fears and we are all full of admiration for you and proud of what you've done.

Blurry screen here as I write that Tilly went off with her new family this afternoon. She and her new sister Pip galloped like mad round our garden for over half an hour, both loving the freedom and fun they had together. Back indoors, Tilly was understandably a bit wary of her new humans but Gerald and Jean are clearly commited to giving her the life she needs. Here's the moment they went off back to Hampshire, where Tilly will be putting in appearances on SLR walks soon.
