This is brilliant news. Keith and Mollie have done a great job in getting him to this point where his new life can really take off. Well done to both of you and so happy that he has settled in so well in his new home. Another great success story, it took a while but you got there in the end

Oooh, I'm welling up! So very pleased that the sleepover was a success and also that Charlie remains a local boy.
Hope Chris and Sean will come along to some of the H&D walks too (honorary lurcher Jack welcome too!).

I am so glad that lovely boy Charlie has settled well. He was showing real signs of serious attachment to Keith I was concerned he would have a problem. But so glad to be wrong. However, Monty & I shall miss seeing him nearly everyday on DW at Whitecliff. He really is one of the bestest hounds I have ever met. Good luck to you all.

Of course we miss our fosters when they go, but no tears!
For a while we worry that they are happy in their new life, but then we remember how quickly they have fitted in when they first come to us. Dogs really are so adaptable , and knowing they've gone to a loving home we know they'll soon settle.

Hello all. I thought I'd give a day 5 update on how Charlie is getting on in his new forever home. In short, brilliantly! He is such a good boy, hugely affectionate, playful and funny...giving us lots of laughs already! Him and Max love a good play session and I know he's itching to come off the lead and have a good run around at the park with him. He's settling in well, getting loads of exercise and so is also getting lots of sleep like a typical lazy lurcher (see pic!). We started separation training this week, even though I work from home we still want him to be comfortable to be left for short periods. So far, we've done 2, 5, 12, 2 x 20 and today 40 minutes and each time he has been fine - generally always waiting by the front door and excited to see me but no issues with chewing or accidents. Such a little gem. Charlie keeping me company this afternoon on the sofabed next to my desk!

Thank you so much for the update, it is lovely to see Charlie so happy and chilled. I don't think rehomers appreciate how attached we all get to these Hounds, (not just their fosterers) so it is lovely to get updates. Again thanks and please keep them coming xx

When I rang Chris this week, Charlie was asleep on his feet under the desk! Yay, and Chris can't understand why he was with us this long.... Chris.. it's because he was waiting for you. We all believe in fate at SLR. xx
