Well Charlie did not turn up on our doorstep yesterday, so I phoned Roy for a chat.
Charlie is behaving himself most of the time, but they are finding it wearing having two playful dogs to cope with, after only having one dog at a time before!
However, they want to carry on for now. I think he may be working his magic on them..........
Still keeping fingers and paws crossed!

WTG Charlie. He has obviously been getting his paws under the table and his bum on the sofa! Sounds like the two dogs are having fun. Everything crossed.

Everything here crossed that Charlie's potential new family adjust to the energy in the house. Sounds as though the hounds are having a great time together.

I hope they'll give it a few weeks and by the sound of it they may well be prepared to do this. Good luck Charlie!!!

I'm sure it must take a bit of getting used to when you've only had one dog, but just to see the fun the dogs are having must be great, and at least they should wear each other out........eventually.

A new photo of Charlie in the garden:
which came with an e-mail entitled "Progress":
"For the last 24 hours Charlie has been very calm and well behaved. The interminable bitey-face sessions have more or less stopped. No problems at the moment... other than the ducks have deserted us... but they may come back. Charlie and Peggy seem to have got over their duck excitement! (There is a nice old pond in the garden which wild ducks come to sometimes.) We are shopping this afternoon to try the two dogs in the car.
We will be buying more Chappie and some kibble for a delicate stomach."
Buying more food supplies? Mmmmmmm!

I'm afraid Keith has been asked to take Charlie back. Nothing wrong with Charlie, but they feel that two dogs doing bitey face and racing round is a bit more than they thought they could cope with. Better to know now, so Charlie will be coming back into the fold.

What a shame for all concerned, but I'm pleased the sensible decision is being made. As we always say, the right home is out there for Charlie, they just don't know it yet. A playful hound needs playful owners I guess, as well as a playful companion dog. So, we might see you at the GIN walk on Sunday Charlie.

that's a shame. He's such a lovely, handsome boy, and very nice-natured, but if they are struggling with two dogs then best to get him back in I guess.

Oh DEAR! How very sad. We were all hoping he would be fine. He would have grown out of it, but there we are. Can't be helped. He is such a sweet natured dog. I have 'baby sat' the White gang on more than one occasion and they are all such lovely dogs. Charlie usually ends up on my knee for cuddles, much to Monty's chagrin!

Oh what a shame but two dogs are def more lively than one! Better to make that decision now. Hopefully a new home will come up soon.

Yep, Charlie is back in the building. He knew were he was, but wasn't overexcited, so he must have been having quite a good time while he was away! Roy and Gill seemed genuinely upset to be bringing him back, but they felt that things were not quietening down enough between the two dogs and they were finding it quite wearing supervising the overly excited play in the garden.
For now he has slotted back into the pack quite smoothly, but Hugo is hoping Charlie will soon get another home offer, as he quite enjoyed the more peaceful time while Charlie was away!
See some of you on Sunday at the GIN walk!

Really sorry to hear that Charlie's new home didn't work out Keith However, as others have said, if it wasn't working then better that Charlie comes back to you until such time as the right Forever home turns up - and it will
