Message this afternoon: It took until about 4.30 to reach this point. They seem to thoroughly enjoy each other's company. SLR Charlie met Maisie (the cat) and barked at her then chased upstairs, no major issue - told him no, on two occasions and he hasn't bothered with her since :-)

Love that pic of two knackered hounds. Sounds very promising....just be a good boy Charlie and leave Maisie alone.

Unfortunately our Charlie could not be persuaded to leave the cat alone this morning, so he has come back this afternoon. It's a shame because the two dogs were really enjoying each others company. Last night our Charlie slept through the wind noise and fireworks, even though resident Charlie was being a wuss and seeking cuddles on the bed!
The other slight problem is that in charging around the garden this morning there was some kind of collision with the glass of the greenhouse and our Charlie has a cut on his elbow. It has been expertly bandaged by Heather, and I'll get Uncle Graham to check it out tomorrow.
Could he be trained to leave the cat alone...........?

It would depend largely on the cat. Our old cat stood his ground and very firmly told George off after being picked up once. George was still interested but did back off when "told" to by Ollie . Our other two cats aren't that brave so just hide ! Sent from my Nexus 7 using proboards

Such a shame x I guess it depends on house layout , and if possible to separate while training xx

Graham was very encouraging about Charlies wound. Heathers excellent bandage worked well and the wound is drying and healing nicely.
He cleaned the area and gave him some Abs just to be sure. Dressing change Wednesday when it might be possible to leave it open.
The difficult task, of course,is keeping the wrestling with Hugo under control!

So sorry it didn't work out for Charlie with the cat, he and Charlie seemed to be having such a great time together. All elbow-healing vibes winging their way southwards from SBM

Dressing change this morning. Graham is happy that it is healing well, but not quite ready to be left exposed.
Back on Friday morning, when we hope it will have scabbed over.
Another three days with bouncy boy on the end of the lead!

Do you need a leg protector?

Thanks for that suggestion, Yes Please!
We were wondering how to protect it when there is no dressing.
Hugo and Charlie go in for some pretty full-on wrestling at times!
