Wonderful outcome . It is making me wonder whether all the SLR fosterers end up failing at least once?

Just took Olly for his injections. How do they know where you are taking them even before the lead goes on. Had real trouble getting him to leave his new brother and sister. They are all delighted to be back together after a dreadful 30 minutes apart!

Olly has his little boy op scheduled for Friday. The vet declared him a perfect little Lurcher though she did say he had the saddest little face. He was very good but he really didn't like going to the vet. Even the scales were a trauma, bless his little white paws. He didn't make a noise just stood very still and quiet and all the joy we usually see was gone Not looking forward to taking him in Friday but am excited that soon he will officially be in his forever home.

Oh bless him. Some dogs can really do the "pathetic hard-done-by" look when they need to can't they? Scruffster is a master at it too. Hope all goes well for Olly's op on friday. Will be thinking of him.

Dropping Olly off at the vets for his op was not without drama. He was very chilled in the car, so instead of doing the usual opening the boot a crack and reaching for the dog thing, I opened it wide. He leaped up from lying and out of the boot in one fluid movement and completely freaked out trotting off through the car park and up the path round the side of the building. I followed him to the front door trying to stay calm but as he ran for the road my heart leaped into my mouth and I yelled OLLY STOP! Luckily he turned onto the path and leaped into the front garden next door and lay down on the grass and I caught him. Never trust a chilled out looking dog! Anyway, his little adventure did him no harm thank god and he is being cuddled and cooed over by the whole team who think he is gorgeous. Which of course he is. How quickly we become attached.

Little boy is fine after his op, he's been hungry and has eaten little and often wandered round looking mournful and mostly cuddled up. He hasn't been too interested in the surgical area but I've no doubt we'll struggle to keep him quiet, still and disinterested for long! It's going to be a fun week. You have to love him, he's had such an eventful few weeks, looking forward to getting the follow up vets appts done so he can enjoy life without interruption
