Poor Nancy. I do feel for you. She is a very special girl and I am really sorry we couldn't have her. Lots of virtual hugs sent and good luck with the visitors. Xxxx

This is a really hard decision for you... I know how it feels. I never intended to keep Alice but the bond with my two was so strong I couldn't bring myself to split them up, especially as I knew I wanted to get a third dog anyway. I kept thinking what if it turns out that she's the best match and I let her go. Good luck to her with the visit and I hope it isn't too upsetting for you and all the dogs

It was very difficult to assess this morning as we had had the rain and thunder and it was wet whilst the dogs/humans were meeting in the hour available. DeeDee's visitors had to dash to London for a party so will think about her and let us know tomorrow.
I took the three dogs out today joined by a friend and her young grandchildren who adored the dogs. The three dogs were brilliant with the children aged about 8 and 6. I can tell that foster dad is not as strict as I am. The two girls have had a whale of a time for three and a half weeks racing around. I was nervous of other park users so alternated their on lead time. I did feel guilty but there were too many families, grandparents etc out for any girly bitey face madness. Alfie just stuck by my feet. Have to work on DeeDees recall when having fun!
We took the three dogs to the Ellingham show yesterday. DeeDee was a star. Whilst we stopped and chatted or looked at any event/stall she just lay down calmly and waited. A very sociable girl wanting to say hello to all the dogs but sensitive.

It is hard to let them go when they have been around for a while. Nothing through yet!

The potential adopters, who already have an SLR dog felt that they could not take Deedee as there were too many mixed feelings within the family group. Such a shame as they came a long way to visit Deedee, from Essex. And she would have had such fun with their lovely SLR lurcher lad.

We have now homechecked another family. Lovely people with a current Lurcher bitch and sprollie bitch and right in the New Forest. Yay, so she is reserved pending visit again. x

If all goes well the prospective adopters will receive a gorgeous little girl, very well adjusted, with as good a recall as one could wish for in a lurcher. Nancy, Paul and Henry have given DeeDee a wonderful start to her new life and I admire them for all the love and care they give to all their dogs. Good luck lovely DeeDee, fingers crossed that everything works out for you, and very well done, Nancy, Paul and Henry xxx

Brilliant news! Thank you Keith for taking DeeDee and for the video. So delighted that DeeDee will have two other girls to play with and hopefully in time we can get to see her with her new family.
The lovely lady who saw DeeDee on Sunday telephoned me last night to say that they have a new girl joining them who will be named DeeDee so delighted for them too.
After an extremely emotional trip this is absolutely brilliant.
Thank you to all involved.
