=" planete" source="/post/427251/thread" timestamp="1416168042"] Brilliant. I am sure Comet will really appreciate all the safe open space he is going to enjoy with Snoop, his new playmate. [/quote] Yep he certainly will ! The new fencing is certainly Comet proof ,you will have a wonderful time Comet with your new friend x

Comet is now booked in to have his op. tomorrow morning. I was told this morning there should not be too much soreness afterwards and he should recover quite quickly. Fingers crossed the op is trouble free, and please spare a thought for him and me when I have to convince him on my own to let me put eyedrops into his eyes afterwards! (Neil is away working for the rest of this week).

The vet. hospital have just phoned. Comet has finally had his op. (I had to drop him off at 9 am). The electrolysis went well and they thought I should ring them up at 4.30 to see whether he was ready to come home. Reading between the lines it sounds as if he is taking his time coming out of the anaesthetic properly.
Is it the norm for hospitals to keep a dog in a cage in a strange place from 9 am to 3pm with no food since 8pm the night before? I cannot help but worry about his state of mind in that situation, especially after his previous experiences.

I was able to pick Comet up at five thirty. He looks fine but a bit shocked. He had a little whine in the car but soon settled down on his favourite sofa where he accepted some food after a bit of coaxing. He has now retired to bed upstairs. A quiet day for him tomorrow I think. I am really looking forward to a less quiet Comet! It feels very wrong not to have him bouncing around and playing.

I hope the op was a huge success and Comment is coming round nicely. If he is anything like my hounds after an anaesthetic he will crash out early and sleep all night.
