THIS SALUKI X LURCHER IS ABOUT 5 YEARS OLD. SHE HAS LIVED IN A SMALL PEN IN A BARN FOR THE LAST 2 TO 3 YEARS ONLY LET OUT ABOUT 1 HOUR EACH DAY AND NOT AT ALL FOR THE LAST 8 MONTHS.
CINDY IS VERY AFFECTIONATE AND LOVES TO PLAY. I HAVE HAD HER FOR 1 WEEK AND SO FAR NO MESS INDOORS.
SHE SEEMS VERY BRIGHT. SLIGHTLY NERVOUS ON WALKS, BUT GOOD NATURED WITH OTHER DOGS AND LIKES EVERY ONE SHE MEETS.
CINDY HAS NO MEDICAL PROBLEMS AND NEXT WEEK WILL BE FULLY INNOCULATED.
THIS GIRL IS A SURVIVOR AND DESERVES THE CHANCE TO MAKE SOMEONE VERY HAPPY. SHE MAKES ME LAUGH OUT LOUD WHEN WE ARE PLAYING.
CAN SOMEONE MAKE THE SECOND PART OF HER LIFE SO GOOD THAT SHE CAN FORGET THE FIRST?
IT WILL BE HARD TO PART WITH HER, BUT I CAN ONLY KEEP HER FOR ANOTHER 2 WEEKS.I WILL CONTINUE TO TRAIN AND SOCIALISE HER AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.
PLEASE DO YOUR BEST FOR HER SHE IS BEAUTIFUL INSIDE AND OUT, AND THOSE EYES.....
Cindy is currently located in the East Grinstead area - for further information please email Colette at: cflintan@tiscali.co.uk

What is she like with kids and cats? What will happen to her if you can't rehome her within 2 weeks then?

Those Saluki eyes are the one thing that Elly could still use when we picked her up. She just gave Sue and I that Saluki look, but a light was almost out. Cindy is gorgeous. I think she is going on holiday Vicky. She only took her in temporarily to find her a home, but it has been a few weeks now.

OMG barney she is gorgeous! ;D I'm in love! Yup - she's a super looking dog. We're waiting to hear if she's been neutered.
Can I ask you to contact Colette direct, as she's the best person to answer any queries about Cindy.

I wanted to add that Colette did a fantastic thing rescuing Cindy from a terrible situation - I can only thank her from the bottom of my heart.
We had a slow but peaceful drive home around the M25 and having had something to eat the they are now running around exploring. Sandy and Cindy are behaving as if they knew each other from birth, play bowing and chasing each other, sharing their water bowl.
The only downside is that Cindy came into season today and since we've arrived home Sandy seems to have discovered his male hormones. He was castrated three weeks ago, but thats not stopping him!!
Will update with pictures soon

Oh dear, they do tend to come into season once they feel safe. Well done Caroline. Colette thought you were lovely and this made her feel so much better giving her to you.
Sainsbury's nappies, basic, toddler size, cut a hole for the tail and use them when the flow gets a bit much.
At least you will know when her last season was ;D
As I said, any probs at all, we are here. God bless. And well done Colette. J x

We've decided to change her name, Collette and I discussed this in order to draw a line under her horrid past. Trying to be creative we decided to call her Lexie, which is another derivative of Alexander, just like Sandy - so they are connected by their names, even though they are not related. We took them for a nice walk in the local woods last night, and met three lurchers, a deerhound and a whippet - so she's feeling at home. Ian slept on the sofa to keep them company - and also monitor Sandy's hormones - and they had a quiet peaceful night. She goes with Sandy outside for the toilet and has followed his example (which has returned to normal since my last post and a new tempting treat reward regime), whereas previously poor Collette had just to stand there until she eventually went, sometimes an hour later . This morning we've been to Black Country Park, one of Sandy's favourite walks, Lexie was a bit frustrated staying on the lead when Sandy was running around but behaved perfectly with medium to large dogs we met, but wasn't happy with a little spaniel - I assume this maybe related to her rabbiting past. So I've got the next three weeks to try and accustome her to her smaller compadres!! Thanks for the "season" tips, we've had a bit of leakage, and the sofa's are covered in blankets/towels, as she soon made herself at home Caroline

Lexie is a lovely name, it really suits her. Only my opinion but I wouldn't walk her whilst in season, it's asking for trouble

Congratulation on your lovely new dog, she looks a stunner. Its so nice she has a new home. And I agree with bernice about walking them in season, my lurcher was in season recently, and I use to just let her go for a short walk up the road to a grass area then home , that took just five mins. I just could not take the risk of attracting all the male dogs in the area.
