This is very sad case. James and Henry, both brothers, and both 10 were very very loved by their mum. Sadly, she died last week. She had been ill in the year and a couple in her village had looked after the boys, and have had them for the last 6 days, but relucrtantly will not be able to take them on themselves. They don't think they can cope with both of them in a small home. The immediate familly have cats and both boys are not known to be cat friendly, therefore, there is nowhere for them to go within the family. I am finding out how long the couple can keep hold of them for. Both boys are used to half an acre of garden. Pull to the end of the lead but not heavily. Are not now used to going out on many walks as they had so much ground. But would walk a good hour when taken out. I am waiting for more information, but in the meantime am looking for a foster home or home for the boys together. Both boys are neutered. Vaccinations up to date and microchips will be changed over to the Rescue. Here they are. So very sad. They are absolutely beautiful.

I'm just waiting for the intake form to come back. It's so sad. They will be attending their owner's funeral at the weekend.

Poor mites - to find themselves in such tragic circumstances They both look so happy and well cared for - their owner obviously loved them very much And I know I'm biased but you can't beat an older dog for love and cuddles

Not known if cat friendly. Child, people and other dog friendly. Can walk up to an hour on lead together, can pull on the lead, but controllable. Both neutered, vaxed and all treatments up to date. Very healthy boys.

TOO STRESSED TO GO TO THE FUNERAL
Henry and James were due to attend their Mum's funeral at the village church in Norfolk on Friday but we felt that they were stressed enough already so we decided against it. It was a wonderfully positive occasion for all, apart from the two Boys who are rather quieter than usual. They are still at their home - with the support of friends who are feeding and walking them but this arrangement cannot continue forever. They are beautiful dogs with a lovely temperament who have enjoyed a marvellous life together in the country with my Mum and Dad. Both of my parents have now died and Henry and James are in urgent need of a new and loving home. I hope that someone out there may be able to offer them that home - the dogs will reward you with love and companionship. Thank you

Thankyou Clive, for posting on their thread. They now also have a thread on www.oldies.org.ukI wish I could take them in, but at the moment I have more than my fair share. I would, if I could.

We are having James and Henry into the Rescue for assessment with Jane for the next week. All has gone well today. I am sure that Jane will update shortly. You have all been aware that James and Henry have been home alone, apart from neighbours walking and feeding, but it is not an ideal situation and they needed to be brought in. Fingers crossed it works out and we can rehome them very soon.

These old chaps are so beautiful...even Ed seems quite happy with them! Henry is smooth, chilled, snuggly and a tad greedy....hence the little porky belly! James is rough, a little nervous, and has the biggest most doleful eyes....and is currently howling his unhappines Fortunately he also like his sleep! They loved there evening walk and sniff and pee for england! Hopefully it wont be too long before theyre feeling more secure. Theyve been through so much , poor babies xxx

These boys are heartbreakers! After about an hour of on and off howling last night James settled and gave just the odd quick cry for the rest of the night. I woke at 7.30 and all was quiet so I decided to go down to them before I heard any whining so their day would start on a positive note. I found that Ed was sleeping downstairs in the hall - he usually sleep up in the room next to mine - and the old chaps were sleeping in my office, so I wonder if he was responding to their call? There is another room between the hall and the office so Ed couldnt get close enough to disturb them but interesting to think about..... Anyhooo - I peered through the door and the boys were snuggled on their 'nests' (4 layers of nice homesmelling beds, duvets etc!) They looked up at me wagged and gradually got to their feet...at least Henry did - James was too tired from ALL THAT HOWLING !!! All 3 decided they needed to reacquaint themselves with their own personal odours(!) then went for a pee good as gold. Ed did a few playful circuits or the garden but the old chaps just wanted to get back in their warm beds !! My kind of dogs!!! So theyre by my side, all deepbreathing and dreamchasing again.....totally adorable. I do hope Joyce can sense somehow that her darling boys are being cared for - she clearly, along with their dad, loved them very much OK - enough tears - more tea! PS _ many thanks Jenny, Donna and Romi xxx
