Sorry for the lack of updates, been mega-busy on all sorts of fronts! An aside - Interestingly, one of the other video's on Barney's page above is the Harlow Town Show in 2009 which was actually where Nikki & I first came across SLR & also first met Baxter! This is just a quick update: Bax continues to behave very well & is even showing some a bit of progress when meeting other dogs (actually had a couple of meetings whilst off lead both of which were absolutely fine, nothing more than exited sniffing). One of those was with Archie who it turns out Jenny knows from Pish park! Now that we've had a few weeks of no meds I think we can safely say that coming off the Zylkin had zero negative affect. A couple of photos from the Harlow 10 (10 mile race held last Sunday). Baxter got lots of oohs & ahhs.... And here's a few videos of us trying to get Baxter used to the idea of his teeth being brushed. Initially we're trying to get him used to having his gums/teeth rubbed by our fingers, ideally with some doggy toothpaste on them. It doesn't last long because he licks it off as soon as he can.... ;D Not much other footage because Nikki has been working pretty much every day & if it's just me & Bax out we tend to be playing football or walking, neither of which leads to photo opportunities...! cheers Ade

Many thanks for the update Ade, & especially the vids of Baxter having his gnashers attended to. I'm delighted at his 'other dogs off lead' progress, particularly as he got on fine with the exquisite Archie, who was one of my easier fosters.
Cheers,
Barney

We had Baxter overnight on Sunday and he was an absolute poppet. What a change in a dog. He is calm, obedient and doesn't jump up. He doesn't even go on the sofas ;D I got kisses and Mim seems to have taken a shine to him. He spent most of his time kissing her and following her around and she let him sniff her A doggie greeting. ;D Just a few photos Go on, give us a !

I'm chuffed to ninepence with the fantastic difference in Baxter under the care of Nikki & Ade, especially since at one stage it was looking as if he'd have no future at all, which would have been an absolute tragedy.
Horses for courses & all that..........................................

I reckon he's learnt a thing or 2 from Mim too when we got back from Jenny's, Bax sniffed out his rubber ball, dropped it at my feet & starred at it waiting for me to throw it ... short video of Bax last night...I don't think he appreciated Holly bumping him on the nose & disturbing his evening nap...

A little update on Bax; we took him to our friends Anthony & Jenny's house a few evenings ago. They have 3 children (9, 9 & 5) so this was a good opportunity for us to see how Bax would be spending an evening in their company. He was impeccably behaved throughout & accepted all the fuss very happily. He also stuck to us like glue most of the time (I got the feeling he was wondering if we were going to leave him there....!) Here's a couple of pic & some nice footage Nikki took of Bax & the kids: Bax meets SadieBax meets AnthonyVideo: Bax doing some tricks for the kids in the gardenVideo: Bax the cheese-junkieWe're scheduled to have Sunny paying a visit for around 10 days from tomorrow which should be very educational & begin to show us how Bax might be with another dog around. Especially as regards being left indoors on those occasions we're both out & also meeting other dogs on the walk etc (which is slowly improving but hopefully Sunny may be a calming influence, we'll see....)

:-/I've got a feeling that a certain B.A.x.... isn't going to be going anywhere. Do you think the general public thank that too. Where there's a will there's a way...
