Penny's owner has no choice but to accept employment abroad. They are unable to take Penny with them as they can't sell their house and have to go into rented, and the employment is only for 4 years. They have made the decision that it would be fairer on Penny to re home her before they leave the Country. She is 8 years old, born around April 2002. Has lived with Adults, but is child friendly. She can get grumpy with some dogs that she meets if on lead. She does go off lead but is easily distracted, so off lead is kept to large enclosed spaces where she can easily be re-captured. She does play with other dogs off-lead. Love the seaside and puddles and rivers to play in. She is currently living with a terrier (also looking for a new home). She has lived with cats in the past but small furries outside are game. When she was a year old she had to have a pin and plate in her front foreleg because of a break. She does have a minor oddity in walking, but it doesn't hinder her from having fun. She is neutered, microchipped and vaccinations are up to date. This is going to break their hearts, but they know it is the right thing to do for Penny. SLR are facilitating her re-homing and she will become and SLR dog for life on adoption.

What a sad situation for all. And sad to split her from her terrier pal.
Where is she? She looks quite stocky - do you know the mix?

She's in Kent Jane. And the mix is a hard one to make out. Could be greyhound with a mix of collie whippet on one side.

How very sad. As Vickiemily says it would be great if the two dogs could stay together.

I think we have to think about just Penny It's so hard to re-home two dogs together. BUT if the Terrier is over the age of 7 I will put them both on the oldies site.

Jenny, asking a lot but do we have any news on the terrier? Or a contact where we could find out?
Is she being rehomed from home or looking for a foster?

I've received an email. Unless I can bring the dogs in for fostering by this evening, their owner is reluctantly taking them both to another Rescue.

Oh how frustrating! Such a shame when people leave things to the last minute and then panic. I do hope that they have a happy ending x

They both have a reprieve at the moment. We are homechecking a couple this weekend, and hopefully, if all goes well, they will be venturing over to Penny and her pal to meet them BOTH ;D So, fingers, toes, and paws crossed for all. xxx

;D Penny and her bro Harry are destined to go to their new home near Reading this Sunday. Her current owners are going to take her and Harry there themselves and spend a while with their lovely new mum and dad. What an incredible outcome. Please, all, positive vibes for Sunday. They have already met them but all paws and fingers crossed for the rehoming. It will be a very tearful day for their mum.
