Sadly, through no fault of her own, Brindie needs a new home. Personal circumstances mean her adopters are unable to keep her. Brindie originally came into SLR at the start of the year having been discovered in a police raid. She was a little thin and in need of TLC but blossomed with her foster carers, and has grown up beautifully in her adoptive home. She is still under 18 months old. She is very child friendly and dog friendly but NOT cat friendly. She is okay to be left for a short time, but she's still young and a cuddle monster so would need somebody around most of the time. Brindie is neutered and vaccinated. And gorgeous. Edited to correct appalling grammar!

That's so sad I thought her home was perfect... such a shame she's coming back in but I'm sure it won't be long before she's snapped up.

Well we have Brindie here and she has settled back into the old routine...one that mostly involves playing with the jack russel pup and chasing Toby round in circles until she catches him and then they reverse the chase???Who decides the rules i wonder? She is much smaller than I remember. Kind of half way between whippet and greyhound but more on the short side. Suddenly realised i had left some beef on the sideboard this morning and she had been downstairs for quite a while and it was left untouched! She really is a lovely dog. We have been out and about with her for the last two days and people just want to stop and fuss her all of the time. This is completely understandable as she is GORGEOUS. All of the fuss, attention and chat she just takes in her stride. Completely calm and chilled. She is a little unsure of combines/tractors but you know what I will let her have that as they are very noisy and most disruptive to a country stroll. Overnight we have had no problems at all she slept on the landing all night through and woke us up at breakfast time. She came back to bed for another couple of hours after breakfast and slept tight. She really seems to understand it is the school holidays and time to rest! The pulling on the lead has gone we walked for about 3 miles and only had a couple of minutes of correction (she definitely responds very well to a stern tone of voice). Off the lead she seems to have a manic 5 minutes then just walks with the rest of the pack no vanishing act yet either at the beach or the wood. Brindie is really a lovely dog and if we had the space and time we would keep her. Unfortunately we have some big changes ahead of us and just cannot commit to another four paws. She has a lovely disposition gentle and kind and is a beautiful, beautiful hound. I can recommend this gentle girl to anyone except possibly someone with cats or somebody not willing to uphold the rules. Like any dog I am sure she would take advantage of a lack of boundaries. Bless her little face. She just makes me want to cuddle her all of the time.

Quick update We went over to a food a drink festival being held at a local stately home today. We took Brindie and the JRT x puppy Didi and had a great time. All of the people stopping to fuss Brindie slowed our process somewhat but she was her usual tolerant, patient and well behaved self! At the cider stall I was clearly taking too long as when I turned round she was laying on the floor at full stretch nearly asleep....All of that food and gorgeous hog roasty type smells and the only time she pulled on the lead was to have a sniff of another dog. Not interested in all of the tit bits on the floor or the people walking by just in the other dogs.
She is now fast asleep in her basket. It is like the efforts of being so well behaved have exhausted her and now she needs to recuperate.
Off to the beach this evening if those big dark ominous clouds hold off.

Was that at Helmingham?
We were there last week for Suffolk Dog Day.
What did Brindie think of the highland cattle? Did she get to meet them?

Last night we took the hounds on a big long walk through the marshes from Snape to Aldeburgh about 4 miles or so. Apart from seeing a kingfisher for the first time in ages which was quite special. Brindie really came to life charging up and down at 100mph through the reeds and marsh getting soaking wet and having a lovely chase from Toby. They were so tired they slept until after luch today. So a brilliant quiet Sunday morning for us. This evening we went down to the playing fields with the cricket ball. Lots of chasing and lapping and fun again. Brindie is not really responsive to her name still she has never run off from us and she never goes very far BUT she is only coming back when either the other dogs do or if she feels like it. So halfway there........

I'm afraid Ainjee that Brindie has been earmarked, pending a meeting for a home very near to her foster home. Fingers crossed for Brindie.

Brindie is still available.
After much thought, it has been decided that Brindie needs a home with a woman around as she is a lady's girlie. And she loves children. She went out on a trial with a single man on Monday and she is missing the family company. Hopefully, she will be going over to Luton for fostering this weekend.
