People may be put off as she is quite bouncy but i am sure this is something that can be worked on ...... she is fine when she settles and knows you ..... Leadership and lots of training and she will be a smasher

We love Cassie very dearly. However, due to circumstances out of our control we are now increasingly desperate for her to find a forever home very soon. Both Cassie and ourselves have lost a pivotal part of our family. Cassie desperately misses her garden where she could patrol for cats and her pond where she would fish for toads to play with. We will miss her desperately but know that the right move for her is a home that we cannot provide. We would be so very grateful if somebody who understands her needs could come forward to help. If not for a permanent home, just for a potential foster home that would be capable of providing her a better lifestyle than we can currently provide. Thank you for looking x

Hi Sarah, We have a little one coming in this week, but if it all gets too much for you let me know and we will see if we can squeeze her in. We were hoping that she could go to her new forever home from her current sofa.

Hi Jenny. We were really hoping so too but time is running out. Unfortunately Dad died intestate which means Cassie's original home has gone and Mum has been forced to take a rented flat where dogs arent allowed! However, we are still doing our best but Cassie's needs are now paramount and our capabilities are limited. We just need her to be happy with the space and freedom she deserves. Thank you so much for your ongoing support. It is appreciated so much more than you know.

Cassie is out on trial at the moment. Jane33 is looking after her, but we are hoping that Cassie will hit it off with her mum's lurcher and go to live with them. Early days yet though folks.

Hi all - a quick update....the story so far.... Cassie and Bessie, mums whippet lurcher, seem to have hit it off. Because Cassie isnt used to socialising with dogs off leads she has a little difficulty understanding their signals and consequently her and Ed didnt see eye to eye at first although things have gradually improved. Perhaps their similarity in age and size didnt help as there wasnt an immediate natural leader. No doubt this will happen over time of course. However, Bessie - although a shrimp compared to Ed and Cassie, has a huge personailty and is as feisty as they come...not stroppy or snarly - she just says it how it is and everyone seems to take notice...rottie or Jack! So when Bess wasnt happy about Cassie shadowing her, she turned and told her. After 2 or 3 tellings off, she and Cassie became good friends and have been lying side by side (in the scorching sun...crazy...I chivvied them under the unbrella!). Bess is 13 and I think Cas is in awe of her years and wisdom! Bess is also doing well with Ed, unsurprisingly. Cassie is bright as a button and in less than a day had stopped jumping up as soon as she realised she didnt want to see your back turned to her, stopped mouthing, learned to drop her new toy and leave it as I didnt want to tug with her, and leanred that come here (when pointing to a spot on the rug) meant 'get of the sofa and lie on the floor'. She really is a sharp little gal and wants to please so much it makes training more straightforward. My dad is in the garden trying to doze and she keeps going to lick and nuzzle him for cuddles....he'd moan if it was mum! Mum has talked to Pat today which I hope has helped ease Pat's mind. So loving little Cassie will be on a trial as an Essex girl and we are very hopeful that things will work out well. My little sister Bessie is a truly remarkable doglet and it is down to her that Cassie has this chance! Attachments:

Update..... Cassie is still doing well in her role as Essex Girl and is getting used to her new surroundings. There are still growls, grumbles and lip curls occasionally as Bess reinforces her status but Cass is learning not to push her luck. The most grumbling is usually due to Cass wanting Bess to play and forgetting that her mentor is an old lady who only wants short bursts or playtime. This is keeping mum and dad on their toes as they often end up as the playmate, but also their garden is big and on lots of levels with little paths here and there in between the trees so Cass has plenty to amuse herself with too. This of course means she is sleeping very soundly with only the odd whine at night and her and Bess happily share the bed for a morning cuppa. Dad said that Cass gets on the bed and leans back on him like he's an armchair with her head pressed against his face....sweeeeeet !! Still early days so carry on crossing fingers and toes....! OK Cassie now listen to me, this is how you drink from the pond. Sometimes its fun as it makes your poo go soggy and mum and dad have a tough time picking it up! But try to avoid the fish food as its yucky. Thank doG there's a throne in this house - what a shame I forgot to pack my Tiara... "Are the stars out tonight......I cant tell if its cloudy or bright.....coz I only have eyes....for you, Bess....."
