Sadly no I can't understand why PLEASE someone apply for him, he's just lovely. He needs a nice family who will be firm with him and make sure he knows his place, and where someone is at home most of the time, at least to begin with. Also a doggy companion who enjoys rough lurcher games, high fences, no cats, and lots of love and cuddles.

Right, quick(ish) update on Cai's progress. He can now do the 'down' command! So he can do sit, down, and paw It took him ages to realise what he had to do, but now he's gotten the hang of it! We've had a problem with him where if he was off lead and someone came into view (with or without a dog) he would run over and bark at them. This obviously is a problem as it does frighten people, but he would come back after being called. He will also say hello nicely to them once we are near them, and enjoys being fussed. He just has to bark at them first So we are now using a Citronella collar which sprays him when he barks. We've been slowly introducing him to it, and it's already worked. After having been squirted couple of times, he now thinks twice about running up and barking at people. He was very good on this afternoon's walk as there were lots of strange people about and he didn't bark once He loves to play and has made great friends with a young labrador who loves to play rough, and the pub dog who's a big rotti cross. They all rough and tumble together and have great fun. Someone out there is missing out on Cai. He's a wonderful companion as he loves his people (and dogs). I've spent most of the afternoon with him cuddled up with me on the sofa! Come on, get your applications in!!!

Thanks for asking, Jeanette. He's doing really well. Barking has almost stopped completely, and if he does bark at someone, he only does it once, and will stop after being squirted. He'll then go slowly up to them and get a fuss. His barking is not out of aggression, but fear, as when he does go up to people for a stroke he cowers and will sit down in front of them. But once he realises they're not going to do him any harm he is fine, and will go up to them in confidence for a stroke. He's a good boy (apart from when he steals the bread! ) he just needs rules and boundaries. I do love him Keith, he's so affectionate and loves people. Everyone keeps asking is he beocming a permanent fixture, but as much as we love him, and it'll be hard to see him go, he needs his own family to love. I can't for the life of me work out why no-one has applied for him yet, he's such a lovely, handsome boy Just to prove how handsome he is, here are some recent pictures :

I can't believe it either Rowan. He is fantastic. A stunning hound and all he needs is his own family and another dog around. It is so so sad that he has been with us for over 3 months, and that he is growing up in foster. I know how much Rowan and Co love him and it is going to tear them apart to lose him. He is a gorgeous hound.

It's going to be so heartbreaking for Rowan, Hannah and Helen. They have already said goodbye to him once and now he is back again for months and they are going to have to go through it all again. He is a super dog, just needs hounds around him and those boundaries.

Cai is absolutely gorgeous - and looks so much like Cleo in some of those pics - their faces are very similar.
