Hellooo! Don't worry we're all still here ! Little Esme is still as good as gold, and still a hungry hippo! She does a funny wee dance whenever she thinks food may be on offer (that must be the little piggy dance you mentioned Jenny!) Her ribs don't seem quite as prominent as they were last weekend, but she's still got a very exposed spine and hip bones.....so we need to keep feeding her up! We're a little worried that Aalto is a bit too bouncy and rude at times for her. He has to have at least a couple of tries to get her to play every day, and she's just not interested in any of that childish stuff. She loves human company, and follows one of us around most of the time (probably mostly on the off chance we'll give her some food ) but she also loves her cuddles. I'm not sure she's that interested in doggy company, although she doesn't mind Aalto being around when he's being good. We've had the odd reaction from her with squirrels when out walking (just a look and a perking up of her ears), but so far no reaction about any other dogs and no reaction with any of the neighbourhood cats (unlike Aalto!!!) I was just letting Aalto and Esme out for a wee and they both came in from the garden all bouncy....and Esme did her first play bow since she's been here! Unfortunately it gave Aalto the signal to play more and she had to tell him to back off and then walk away from him....but lovely to see her playful side popping through

Yaaaay! I think Esme is definitely starting to feel better! She had a proper play this evening......starting with a little play bow, then she had a wrestle with one of Aalto's soft toys, followed by a play with Ewan and a kong! Also, I may have been a bit premature saying she wasn't interested in cats.....Ewan had her out for a walk on her own, while I was at socialisation class with Aalto, and she spotted a cat and perked up with mischief on her mind

I do believe we all know that Gracie's no longer the poor little mite she once was prior to finding her perfect seaside forever home!

We're just back from the vets to get Esme's vax booster. She was an angel for the vet She's now weighing in at 13.5 kg! She still looks underweight though, so I reckon at least another kilo would be good.....so that would have put her around 5kgs underweight when she was brought in!!!! The vet said her mouth is healing nicely. I'd noticed she had a slightly runny eye for the last few days, but the vet said it looks ok, just to keep it clean with saline. Our vet felt the same as Anil, that her mammary lumps don't feel too sinister and that when she has them removed there is a good chance for her She's just had a couple of burns fishy bites and is now having a little snooze. Hello everyone, Esme was a little bit poorly over the weekend. She was a bit wobbly on her legs and stumbled over. We took her to the vet, and they think it could be an ear infection, so she's on antiBs again She's seemed fine the last couple of days. A little bit stiff sometimes, but who isn't in this cold weather! We're just going to monitor her and see how she gets on on the antiBs. Our vet has been really lovely and helpful and she's been in touch with Anil to make sure Esme's treatment is consistent. V
