Suzi's mum emigrated with her boyfriend and couldn't take Suzy with her. She has remained with the daughter of the family, but she is finding it hard with two of her own and old Suzi.
The Vet suggested that they put her down as she is approximately 11/12 years old. The daughter couldn't do that and promised her mum that she wouldn't do it.
She has asked SLR to find Suzi a home for her last twilight years, somewhere quiet and peaceful so she can gently walk with someone and have some love.
Is there anyone who can take on this old girlie, and give her some quality and love for just a while.
She will be having a vet checkup next week and a vaccination as these have lapsed. We do have the details of the vet and will be getting a report.
This is what the daughter-in-law has to say about Suzi........
I've put in an estimation on her age as we can't be certain but we're pretty certain she's no older than 12. My boyfriends mum had her for about 5 years, prior to that his Dad had her for about 3 years, he didn't have her as a puppy but did work her so she was fairly young although his Dad isn't sure of the age she was when he got her so we think 10-12 is fairly accurate.
You asked whether she was steady, she is very placid, I have never noticed any aggression from her, when me and my boyfriend bought our first dog we were living with his mum for 6 months between renting and buying out first house and not once did she get aggressive with our spaniel even when he was constantly pestering her and biting her ankles....
She is fine off her lead, she doesn't go far from us when we've taken her out with our dogs, she's quite happy just to trot along side us while the other 2 race off. Occasionally if there is a big flat field she may have a run, this isn't very often and she will normally circle it a couple of times then return to us.
She's quite happy to just relax most of the time and will happily just lie in her basket, she's certainly not as demanding for attention as our dogs.
She's fine around other people, my boyfriends mother has 6 grandchildren ranging from 3-14 and she has always been friendly around them.
