Ollie looks a lot older than Anil has dated him. He still squats and is also cocking his leg so is around 18/22 months old. But with all his wounds and bald bits he looks so haggered and old. He has a very loving nature and has been nothing but a gentleman with both Barney's dogs and mine. He is, as I type, lying down in the hall next to me. He knows commands and is very gentle. Not food aggressive and meets and greet with a wag. Ollie has been waiting in holding kennels to be well enough for us to take him; so you can imagine what a state he was in when they got him in. Some tlc there, and it shows, and he is well on the way to mending. Thanks Dee and Vera. He has had maliseb baths, A.B's for his wounds and some good meals to put some weight on him. Ollie is now a healthy 25 kilos. He has been worked , and it shows in his muscle formation, but at the vets today he didn't flinch at a cat opposite him, and didn't try to get to it. He loves cuddles, and the stress dandruff he came out with when I first got him has almost disappeared. Anil has given him a thorough check-over and he has had his first vax and microchip. I am due to take Ollie over to another Vet in St. Albans so that they can see his condition today and then monitor it in a week's time, when he will probably go under for neutering. He is being fostered from today with Rowan, Helen, Hannah and poor suffering dad. ;D I warn you, this one is a heart stealer. I love him to bits already. I just want to hug away all that has happened to him. Forgot to mention that this boy, all 26 inches at the shoulder of him doesn't pull on the lead. Some piccies of Ollie. His sore nose And cat watching - but no malice And have a little rest before his onwards journey.

Awww bless! Don't worry, I suspect he'll be thoroughly sick of all the TLC he's going to get here by the time he leaves us!

I have just returned from taking Ollie over to Mel at Halian Vets at St. Albans, for another checkup. Anil wants Mel to see him as he is now and then when he is neutered next Monday so that she can monitor his progress. Thank you for making me so welcome Mel and showing me your excellent facilities there at Halian. Helen met me at the vets with Hannah to take Ollie home. Ollie is a wonderful dog and with some cupboard love and lots of tlc will shine again. He looks about 5 years old at the mo because of his tatty appearance, but he is only around 20 months old. He was an absolute poppet in the car and just accepts his lot in life. I so love this little fellow. Take care of him Rowan and Helen and Hannah. He is so so lovely. xxx

I can confirm what Mummy Chook said about Ollie being a real gentleman: he behaved impeccably towards my crew & Mischa on his brief visit here - the lad is undoubtedly endowed with a lovely nature, in spite of his sad past.

Ollie is here, and is one of the sweetest and most gentle dogs I have met He's had no problems with the dogs here, even when Marley has been humping him he just stood there and let him Marley loves him and won't leave him alone, and my two sniffed him once and have let him be after that. Whilst writing this he's up walked up to me with his tail wagging and put his head on my lap for a cuddle Since he's been here he's just wanted to be close to someone. Whenever anyone's come into the room he's up on his feet and has gone straight up to them for a cuddle. Or if he's on the sofa and you sit down he'll shuffle down the sofa so he's close to you So far has had no accidents in the house, he walked beautifully on the lead and has had no problems. He does look much older than he is, poor thing He's just a very friendly, happy boy, who hasn't had the best start in life, and just wants to be loved Photos to follow once I get some decent ones

Thank you for that lovely update Rowan. I felt so terrible passing him on as he settled for a quick sleep at my house. The poor lad looks like he needs to catch up on a lot of sleep. My heart so went out to him when he came to me at the kennels. What a gorgeous hound We need the very best home for this gorgeous boy.

Its so amazing that he, like so many others, has so much love to give after what he's clearly been through.
Bless him for understanding that we in SLR keep the covenant, and for giving you the chance to spoil him, Rowan & co. You are the experts there after all! ;D

Poor little Ollie, he just wants to sleep to recover from what he's been through, a good rest and somebody to love............ It's unbelievable, a puppy that age should be full of energy and mischief ........... Surely, auntie Jenny and uncle Barney will find you the very very best forever home, you lovely boy. Meanwhile, have a good long rest.............. Viviane. X

He sound as if he has been through the wars as my poor Dolly was before she was rescued, she is just like him and looks older than her years. I am sure with lots of TLC he will make someone a lovely hound and after all he must have been though he deserves the best.

Ollie is such a sweetheart He's so loving and just wants to be cuddled. He's such a character and is very funny. As he's settling in we're seeing more and more of his personality. He adores everyone and loves being stroked. Ollie's been good with all the dogs he's met, and he's tried to get Marley to play with him but he's a bit rough and gets very vocal, which frightens Marley who then runs and hides Every day he's getting more confident, and it turns out that he's a bit of a theif! Today he stole a pair of oven gloves and managed to get a sponge out of the sink! Earlier this evening he also managed to get into the utitlity room and pull down a 15kg sack of food. It went all over the floor and he enjoyed a second dinner. So I had to spend ages cleaning it up once we got him away But he's a very good boy, and deserves the very best home. He needs a lot of love and cuddles, and someone who can give him the time he needs. Now some pictures for all you Ollie fans. He's not the most photogenic dog, especially inside the house, but I got some nice close ups of him today. Marley and Ollie together. You can really see the difference in build here. Marley is very dainty and slim, whereas Ollie is quite muscley and stocky. Both gorgeous Handsome boy: Play with me Fionn! A close up: Cuddling up with Marley: ;D
