Nice ball playing ;D, if we come and visit can she teaches Ajax to return the ball as well and not to wait in the furthest corner of the field until a) a dog appears and he runs there b) I shout 'Ajax come' 5 times and 'I've got cheese' at least twice! Pleeease Gem...

Gem is nervous around new dogs but after meeting them a few times she appears to be more trusting. We've got some more footage of playing ball. We were having a cup of tea in the garden and she plonked the ball in Viv's lap; all you need when trying to have a cup of tea and a slice of cake is a slimy, spit covered ball shoved at you! I think that the being an only dog where people just want a playmate is the best option at present.

We went to order some fence panels this afternoon and were away for about half an hour. There was no whining when we left and none when we came back and no visible damage; perhaps she doesn't have separation anxiety after all, or maybe it was just beginner's luck.

As I understand it from her previous owner John, the separation anxiety co-incided with the sudden tragic death of their other dog. This little girl is going to turn out to be a little treasure in the right home. But we will warn you, which I am sure John and Viv will agree, you will get arm-ache from stroking and cuddling her ;D

We're off to Scotland for a week, so little Germ has gone to stay with Uncle Barney.
We're missing her already and we are looking forward to taking care of her when we get back.

She certainly is Rachel, & affectionate & obedient with it.
Gem was a tad overwhelmed when she first encountered my lot, but she's gradually chilling out, & the tail that was initially glued between her legs has been getting some exercise - she had a lovely wag when Keith & Brenda popped in for a cuppa earlier.
She possesses a good appetite, & really enjoyed her mince & Burns this morning - definitely one of the few who come into our care who doesn't need building up!
She appears to have taken a shine to Winnie, who is doing her usual mothering job with all new dogs entering the home-kennel.
I took Gem to the little park up the road with a tennis ball this afternoon, but she lost interest after the first three or four throws, & just wanted to sniff the different scents in her new surroundings.
I heard a strange noise whilst on the phone to Jenny a few minutes ago, & realised that it was the lass snoring! (Gem, that is, not Mummy Chook! ;D ).

Ah bless Let's hope that one day little Gem will turn into her namesake and not need a muzzle when playing with other doglets. Auntie and Uncle John are due back. I wonder whether she has missed the Walker clan ;D

Ah bless Let's hope that one day little Gem will turn into her namesake and not need a muzzle when playing with other doglets. Gem was only muzzled when she initially met the Poole Pack, & again for the beach visit, (as were my two Greys & Winnie as a necessary precaution against the approach of strange dogs/children not under proper control). Apart from that a muzzle hasn't been required since she first arrived here, as she soon settled & has mixed well with my lot.
