The bench is dedicated to a nurse who walked regularly with her two dogs. The watering 'hole' to the left is filled up by people bringing bottles daily - it is dedicated to a 'dogs for the disabled dog' called Charlie who spent his last years of retirement walking along here. The large bowl says for Charlie's friends. We put the bottles under a bush and take them when they need refilling.

There's no doubt about it, they are smitten with him. I think that his new mum to be is counting the sleeps. It mut be a good home for Joy to be letting him go

No it's o.k. I will let them have him on the promise to bring him back if it dosn't work. I am sure it will and I wouldn't be letting them have him unless it was just right. Friday is the day!

I wouldn't be letting them have him unless it was just right. Precisely the SLR ethos.

They break your heart Joy And then the joy you see of them in their new homes mends it again. But a little bit always stays with them. Promise.

Alfie goes off tomorrow - we three are really going to miss him - just thought we would have another photo blast on his last day. He really enjoyed beach - Three neighbours have been to say cheeriho to him and brought him some treats. We are a soppy lot on this island.

Lovely pics of beautiful hounds Joy - 'tis no wonder the Islanders will miss Alfie. I'm sure that if you talk nicely to Mummy Chook she'll be able to conjure up another temporary companion for you, Sam & Bonnie. ;D ;D ;D
