Sandy, Millie and Murphy (a spaniel boarder) joined me on a trip to Oxfordshire today to visit the gorgeous Crosby with Rosemary and Mike. Went on what should have been a lovely walk round the Thames at Abingdon, but the rain fell like a monsoon and we all got absolutely soaked!! The rain finally held off for the last 15 mins of the walk and we returned to Rosemarys house and ate our picnic there Crosby and Millie Sandy and Crosby playing chasing games Paddling He's a big boy now Crosby the Kangaroo Crosby, Murphy and Millie Murphy getting duffed up by the baby Approaching at speed Gorgeous twosome Crosby, Millie and an elderly whippet we met along the way He is nearly as big as Millie and quite shaggy. Probably the most lurcher like of the four boys. Crosby is full of bouncy puppish energy and really enjoyed meeting up with Sandy again. Once back at Rosemarys they reverted to their old play as demonstrated in "Friends or Lunch" in the calendar competition We had a lovely few hours, despite the torrential rain!! Thanks for lunch Rosemary Caroline

We received a lovely update on Crosby today - he is off to be neutered tomorrow - we'll be thinking of him
Crosby is still a really lovely chap and as handsome as ever. He weighed 20.7kgs a couple of weeks ago. The vet seems to think that is fine.
Crosby is off to the vet tomorrow for his neutering op. I am absolutely dreading having to leave him there! Obviously I know why it has to be done but he is such a laid back dog I don't want him to become even more so and people keep telling me that his coat will change when he is so so absolutely scrummy! I think he will miss his pack of dogs as it will be a few days until he can rush round with them all again. I am so lucky to have a large field so close to the house and away from the road too. There are no trees or anything for a dog like Crosby to hit and he can run at full speed, a lovely sight when you have a beautiful lurcher. Mind you I did not appreciate it when he caught a rabbit a few weeks ago! I suppose in some ways it was quite funny as he ran round and round with his doggy friends running behind him. Show off! I just hope it doesn't happen again.Fortunately his contact with cats has always been on the lead although I should love to feel he was cat friendly. I have seen several cats in the garden as they are frequent visitors but always Crosby has been inside.
