Thanks so much to SLR - and especially to Barney who I think has been smitten by the big fellow "Smitten" isn't a big enough word Gill - he's such an exceptional lad all round that I'd have him here permanently like a shot if I didn't need to keep a space free for the next in line.
Dunno what the Gaelic is for "chuffed to ninepence for the boy," but I sure am! - he's landed firmly on his paws with a family who are going to give him all the love in the world.
This is especially for Miriam, who gave him so much love & helped shape him into the exceptional hound that he is:

"I've also been advised that the correct spelling is: slán agus ádh mór ort, (in case we need to use it in future! ;D ;D ;D )." Sorry! You're right, but I couldn't find an accent on my keyboard that went in the right direction... I still can't! Oops. But accents or no accents, it's a great outcome for Bran!

Sorry! You're right, but I couldn't find an accent on my keyboard that went in the right direction... I still can't! Oops. No need to apologise Jules - after all, there ain't that much call to use Gaelic in this neck of the woods, but 'twas kind of you to go to the trouble of sending a message to Bran in his native tongue. (Wonder if my two Irish Greys understood it? ).Yup - splendid outcome all round.

No, that has to be Uncle Barney's influence. Tut tut Barney... now look what you've done... ;D Mea culpa! You've no idea how distraught I am at the very idea of allowing a Lurcher on the furniture! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
I am a tad concerned about allowing tv remotes, hair brushes etc., within the lad's reach - it may be the last we ever see of them in their current form! ;D ;D ;D

Hi there, this is Bran's former mammy. I'm so pleased to hear he has begun his new life and I want to thank Barney, all at Southern Lurchers, and his new family for giving him this wonderful chance. He is called after a very famous hound in Celtic mythology, Bran who was the favourite hound of Fionn Mac Cumhail (Finn McCool) although he is not quite as heroic as the mythical dog He has been with us several months and has lived with another lurcher, a greyhound, a spitz and 2 yorkies as well as 6 cats (one of whom is blind) His favourite pastimes are: Sleeping, counter surfing, sleeping, elcectronics (remote controls and mobile phones especially ), sleeping, eating Mr Kipling French Fancies (usually by the box and including the box!!) and of course...............sleeping. He is an absolute pet and is literally bombproof!! You can even hoover around him if he is lying on the floor and he wont move He loves other dogs but really loves human company and contact, he is also a very good jumper Like Barney, I would not have parted with him if we didn't have so many other dogs, he is one in a million and I'm just so happy he has gone to such a lovely family. Judging by the photos it wont be long until he has each and every one of thumb wrapped around his paws I wish him all the best of luck in his new life, he really deserves it xxx Miriam

;D It is a little known fact that Sir Isaac Newton was actually working on the conundrum "Why does any given lurcher required at least one and a half sofa cushions?" when the apple hit him on the head and sent him off on a totally different tangent.
OK, it's late, I'm rambling, time for bed!
