Little dodger has been a complete darling on his first day with us - he so affectionate and sweet and friendly - he has spurned his lovely new fur lined dog basket for the fluffy rug in my daughters room, where he has spent a lot of time sleeping!
We have just been for a lovely long walk which he enjoyed - he appears to have a bit of squirrel fettish, but I am happy to report that the local squirrel population remains intact. He has been whining a bit from time to time, and is missing Paula & her family.
I will let you know how he gets on.
Thanks to SLR for being such devoted dog fans, and to Paula for being such a nice foster mum - all the best to little Molly for a speedy recovery. Hope to catch up on a Saturday walk very soon!
Just got an update from fiona via email.................
He is doing really well, still adored by all. He manages to stay out of trouble for the most part! Recall improved a lot, but still a bit touch and go from time to time, when he is distracted by tasty looking wildlife - but my guess is that we will never get over that with a lurcher. Super healthy, touchwood, no trips to the vets, apart from for vacinations and the like. Bit growly with other dogs when on the lead, but v. sensible off lead, and avoids the dogs that look scarey (so do I...). I look occasionally on the website for a walk that I could bring him along for, so that he can say hello to his recuers - I will make it one of these days!........................
And some piccies from Fiona of the lovely Dodgie. ;D
