This adorable little lad found himself in holdings kennels. We have trudged the lost sites and can find no sign of him being lost. The area he was found in is well known traveler territory. I picked him up this afternoon on his last day in holding kennels. This holding kennels would NOT put a lovely dog like this down but they didn't want him staying in kennels any longer. Incredibly he is still house-trained. Not an accident in sight. He has blended into the background with our other six dogs here. He has a heart and soul to die for. Wags constantly, and travels brilliantly with not a sound. Danny is probably around 8 months old. He has absolutely no baggage and just wants to please and be loved. He is off to the vets tomorrow morning for a check-up, microchip and first vax. Someone somewhere is going to be oh so lucky. He is absolutely to die for. Not just to die for, but love for. He is having a play on the patio with Tag and Milo at the mo whilst he dries off from his bath. He has a coat like a teddy bear but soft as silk and not moulting at the mo. He does find it hot in here so we have turned the heating down and put some jumpers on. He is a lovely lovely boy. We have named him Danny, and some of you who have known me for a few years will see why Thanks to Vera and Co for looking after him so well.xx He had to be coaxed up onto the sofa.

Danny's coat is very plushy at the moment. He was blending into the background while Tag and Milo showed off

He travelled back well in the car, not a peep out of him. Seems to be settling in well, we now have a fully functional waggy tail He has seen the cats a couple of times and not shown any interest at all. Still got to be cautious there but it's a good start. Snoopy has only had one grumble at him and he wasn't phased by it which again looks promising. When we got home we had a short walk round the block with our 3 to introduce them on neutral ground rather than in-doors. He is a bit nervous of noisy traffic, cars are generally ok, but a bit nervous of noisier buses or trucks. So far so good, will post more later and hopefully some pics. Just got to sort out the paints this evening and get some brindle on him ;D

Zebra stripes ;D Bless him. I didn't think we were going to prize him out of the car, he was worried that he was moving again. I have a few more piccies, just before he left for his final adventure. Will post shortly. Trying to get dinner on time tonight Thanks Ian and Lesley. Your house will soon be as full as Barneys and mine. ;D

Had a bit of a rough night last night with Danny. Settled down really well in his crate at about 10.00pm. At about 3.00 whining and barking - thought they had heard something. Went down took them all outside and I they went to the loo. His poor tummy was really bad. From then on wouldn't settle so I spent the night on the sofa, so am bleary eyed and irritable this morning. We have had a couple of accidents in the house - I think it's a combination of us not knowing what he is asking for and his tummy at the moment. Hopefully we will get that sorted soon. I took Danny and Dozer for a walk this morning. He needs some work on the lead; had the halti on this morning and was still at the end of his lead. Very friendly towards other dogs, just wants to play. Other than that he is a lovely dog; so soft and has fitted in really well; totally cat friendly just curious - he will get his nose swiped soon.

Just to add a bit to what Lesley just posted re the cat friendly bit. I am pretty sure he is, but having settled in bit now and found his feet his confidence is growing in the house, and he does love to play chase the moggy!. Given the chance he will chase either of the cats, much to their dissaproval, but if the cat stops he does too with tail wagging. I would think it's only play as there's no sign of aggression, but it is stressing the moggies somewhat. Given that a non cat home could be better as it prove prove stressful for the adopters cat if they have one.

Rowan and family have kindly offered to take Danny on for us because of our cats. Thank you to them.
A quick update before he goes tonight.
We are still having house-training problems - doesn't seem to equate going outside for the loo, although we have had quite a few successful trips today which is a good sign.
I think he is best buddies with Dozer as he follows him everywhere - they are like the terrible twins. ;D
He will make a lovely companion for anyone, but I think will possibly need someone with experienc and time to spend with him - if they could they would have a wonderful dog.

Thanks for that update Lesley. He's certainly come out of his shell in a few days ;D But he has a lovely nature, just mischievous. Probably ideal for a family with older children, above the age of 8 where he would be in his element.

Danny's arrived at the Blackmore household. Thank you to Ian for bringing him here. He's a lovely boy, with the softest fur. Surprisingly, Fionn and Tipton aren't paying him much attention, and after running around the house and garden for a good couple of hours he's now settled down and is stretched out on his bed. I'll post some pictures of him tomorrow

Thanks Rowan. I have made enquiries with Mel on neutering, when he has settled in I hope he gets into a routine with the peeing. He really didn't have one mishap here

And a thank you from us Rowan, it will give the cats here a break from Danny's playtimes! He travelled up ok, bar a couple of incidents. He did manage to find the switch to the electric rear windows whilst in the fast lane of the M25 Luckily i closed it before he bailed out at 80 Then he thought coming in to the front with me would be fun. He was on a lead that was tied at the back of the car, but if he squeezed and really tried his hardest then he could get stuck half way between the seats So a couple of stops on the way up to untangle him but other than that he is fine in the car. Hope he settles ok, he certainly seemed to get on well with the other dogs.

Well, Danny's been really good so far. We expected him to have some accidents in the house, but so far not a single one! He goes straight outside if he needs to go to the toilet and asks to go out if the door's closed. He's still quite restless and if he's settled down on his bed/the sofa, he'll jump up when he hears a noise. I think this will get better once he's been here for a while and has had a chance to settle. He's good out on walks, but does pull a bit on the lead so I've got a Halti on him for the moment. When he meets other dogs he either ignores them or tries to play with them. He's very friendly with us, and when I came home today he greeted me with a wagging tail, and he got very excited. He's quite bouncy and jumps up to see what you have in your hands etc. The only other thing to mention is that he's a bit of a counter-surfer, but what lurcher isn't So far he seems to be a lovely, happy boy, and he'll make someone a lovely pet Now some pictures: He also found his way onto the sofa today : What a handsome boy

Thank god. I was thinking everyone would thnk me telling porky pies. He didn't have one accident here either. And he stood by the patio doors and asked to go out. Phew He really needs to bump into that lovely family that you see out walking as we are homechecking them. Could be fate ;D
