Eddie has well and truly settled in now. He is unfortunately still weary when out and about, but we are sure that will get better with time. At home he is absolutely fabulous. He loves the children and will plonk himself down as close to them as possible. He wasn't particularly impressed this morning when he realised nobody had come back with me after the school run! He is as lazy as anything and will sleep the day away, given the chance! A few pictures taken during the weekend will follow shortly. Yvonne. x

A long overdue update! Eddie is continuing to do really well. He is completely adorable and so loving and affectionate. We had a bit of trouble with food for a while, but I think that was purely down to me giving him too much in a bid to put a few pounds on him! I think I just overwhelmed him with my great quantities. He has now settled into a good routine and is steadily putting on some weight. He sadly doesn't seem to have any idea about toys or playing, but the kids are determined to teach him. After lots of shy looks around the kitchen door when the kids have been playing outside, last weekend he finally decided to venture out into the garden. We always come out the back door to go on our walks, but he never even wanted to entertain the idea of going into the garden. For some reason, he appeared to be very wary of that until now, so that's another milestone! He is much much better out and about now. Not so nervous anymore and he is very tolerant of other dogs, even the in-your-face-little-yappers. He happily bounds around the fields and loves having a race with Jay when he is on his bike. The only negative outdoor thing is that he is completely petrified of skateboards and seems to be able to hear them from miles away! He absolutely adores both the kids and will always choose their company if they are around. A couple of recent pictures will follow shortly. Yvonne. x

Hello everyone, Well, I can't believe Eddie has been with us for 8 months now - time just flies! He is the most adorable dog and too sweet for words. All he wants is love and cuddles ... and sleep, lots of sleep... He is doing fabulously. His weight hasn't changed much since we first adopted him, but he is eating really well and is really happy, so the vet is happy he is fine as he is. We went through a phase of him growling at smaller dogs a lot, but that seems to have completely disappeared. He loves similar sized dogs, especially the greyhound ladies who live nearby (no other lurchers unfortunately). Now all the local dogs have got to know him, they understand his lurcher play a bit better and are not scared away by the noises he can make at times! He is amazing with the kids and has never-ending patience. He comes to school every day too, where he also appears to be the star attraction every day without fail. I think it's the Bambi eyes ... We got a kitten a few months ago too and the two of them are complete best friends. They actually play together lots and Eddie mouthes him very gently, which is hilarious to watch. Then they usually end up in bed together, very cosy. Jenny has very kindly offered to post some up to date pictures we took this weekend, so they will follow soon. Yvonne. xx
