Another good night with Lolly. Her cough seems better this morning, so might leave the vets today and see how she goes.
She's definitely settling in; pinched one of "their" beds this morning you should have seen the look on Snoopy's face.
She is doing really well with the cats - I think she just wants to play with them.
We've had 2 small accidents in the house, but I think that was more our fault than hers as the rest of the time she has been fine.
I think she wants to be friends with Snoopy because he's the one she keeps going to and wanted to walk next to this morning, but I don't think he quite knows how to do it.
She can now manage the stairs; yesterday we thought they might be a bit steep for her, as she didn't seem to want to climb them, and had been carrying her up and down, but this morning I was upstairs with Snoopy and she and Bran came galloping up, so no problems there.
She is just to loving, she would make someone a lovely companion/playmate.

Took them all to the local country park yesterday afternoon - cold but nice. The boys took off as though they hadn't been out for days and Lolly was going mental on the lead so I let her off and she shot off after them, although I'm afraid my two are very much a team and don't really play with other dogs. She had a lovely run with them and came back when they came back.
I put her back on the lead then and kept her on for the rest of the walk - didn't want to push my luck. Mind you Snoopy and Bran had the devil in them yesterday (unusual for Snoopy), no recall whatsoever so they were on the lead for most of the time as well.
in the kitchen this morning with Lolly laying on the floor and 2 little heads were looking round the corner to see where she was - the cats make me laugh; they tell her off, but they are so curious about her. She is being very good with them and backs off when they tell her to.
They have all come upstairs whilst I'm on the computer and crashed on the bed.

This is the piccy from yesterday. Had a lovely run with them this morning. She stays with the boys and doesn't attempt to go off on her own. We've not actually met any other dogs off lead yet so I don't know what she would do. I think probably go and say hello and want to play. Snoopy cut his foot this morning and silly me left the cotton wool out and guess who was a bit fluffy around the gills this morning. I definately think she is finding her feet, which is nice. Housetraining doing really well; she generally pees in the spot we have designated for the dogs, since putting our gates up. Lolly has realised that she has to wait nicely for her food and will sit before eating it. I think she is going to be a quick learner.

Oh bless her Lesley. It is so good to see her off-lead and having some fun. What a lovely girlie. And the boys seem to be loving her too I know you are going to miss her, but what a good job you have done this week. She's a special little pup.

We had a phone call from Lolly's new mum saying been home for about an hour and all going ok. Thats great news as I know Lesley has been thinking of her ever since she left (there were a few tears here). We did forget on the last message to say thankyou very much to Lolly's new mum for the generous donation, it's greatly appreciated. Hope to hear more on her soon with updates on her progress, and who knows maybe see her again on one of the walks some time.

Just logged on to a lovely email from Toni, Lolly's new mum. Everyone who adopts goes through the same worries. And it always work out in the end. ........ This is just a quickie - we have been home with Lolly for about an hour now. She has had a good look around the house (upstairs as well) and garden (I think she likes it) - and has been introduced to Freddy. He is just slightly concerned (and why not?) but I really do not anticipate a problem. You are right, she is absolutely gorgeous and if we had any doubts that this was the right thing to do, they have already evaporated. We are so looking forward to getting to know her and having fun with her. She is asleep on a rug in front of the woodburning stove (unlit at the moment but wait until later - I wonder how she will like that?) - having satisfied herself I think that there is nothing to worry about and all will be well. I expect she is quite tired with the anxiety of the trip and yet another change of venue. It is quite an emotional experience isn't it - that's me I'm talking about - I feel quite tearful?! This is a dream come true - I spent many months chained to a computer in an accountants office prior to my retirement planning this day ... and now it's here. Thank you so much for your help and putting us in touch with this lovely dog and making it happen for us. Of course, many pictures to come in due course. Bye for now, Toni x
