Claire has collected her so she’s on her way ❤️ All the blood was from her ears being ‘clipped’ either travellers marking her or from while she was at large😢 She’s a lovely lass and definitely in need of Barneys respite care ( and chicken dinners lol!! ) she’s going to make someone a beautiful loving companion ❤️

I know I've said it about foster hounds umpteen times before, but this lass is really adorable. She was delivered safely by Boo just over an hour ago, & as we have no history for her I've named her Hope, since the reality is that now she's in SLR's care she can look forward to finding a loving, caring forever home, & wave goodbye to her past, in which, (judging from her scars), she's not exactly been well treated.
Annie & Sandy have proved true to form welcoming Hope into their home-kennel, where she has been exploring her new surroundings & is now lying at my feet.
On her arrival we took all three girls for a short jaunt in the park, where Hope was naturally inquisitive & seemed to enjoy new sights, sounds, & particularly 'niffs. She is quite strong, & does tend to pull on the lead, so there's a bit of work to be done there.
Hope has not thus far shown any interest in cuddly toys or tennis balls, she does, however appreciate treats!
Many thanks to Claire & Boo for yet another successful SLR transport run.
We're off to the park for a decent walk now & I'll report back later.

What a lucky little girl to have found her way to SLR and then to the tender care of Barney. She won’t believe her good fortune

Our big mid-afternoon walk was very enjoyable all round. Hope does pull on the lead, but not arm-wrenchingly so, & she appears to be a quick learner. She had a couple of acrobatic leaps for no apparent reason other than she appeared to be enjoying herself. Whatever her past, she's very fit.
Boo suggested that Hope may never have lived indoors, & this is borne out by the fact that she's obviously not house-trained. I've therefore removed the hall runner to make life easier as I only have the vinyl flooring to clean up after her "accidents."
We all visited my neighbour friend Tom this evening, (he was trying to convince me of all people that the odd pint or three of Old Speckled Hen slides down quite easily! ), & Hope very quickly made herself at home - she appears to have overcome the initial nervousness she displayed.
The scars the lass bears are not large, & I don't believe her wounded ear tips are going to be a problem.
Hope is obviously a work in progress, & 'tis early days but TLC is proving very effective in her learning process - she's going to be a great companion for someone with patience who understands her needs.

Lovely update Barney. Hope suits her perfectly. She was a dream on the transport run with her Kennel mate. It looks to me that she has had a litter recently as her teats are prominent ?? She has at last found what comfort means. Enjoy the old speckled hen.

Dunno whether 'tis just a matter of there being so much info that has to be digested & passed on when a new foster hound arrives on the scene, or whether 'tis dementia setting in, but I should have mentioned that Hope has a very healthy appetite, & is also an accomplished counter surfer & bin raider.
