Maggie met Harley and she took it all in her stride. So proud of her. She even went off lead - heart in mouth time. Jenny has pictures on the way. I'm so proud of Maggie and we had such a lovely time. Harley is amazing

We had a lovely walk on the North Downs Way. The weather was stunning and the views amazing. Harley and Maggie got along famously. The small humans, after the initial shock of Harley's size were brilliant and not fazed by anything. Thankfully all the fields at this country park are enclosed so we decided to let Maggie off lead. It's always a heart in mouth moment because you just don't know ! Maggie was a star, she followed Harley's lead but did not got out of sight and looked to Tina and Graham for assurance, her recall is spot on. We met so many people out hiking who stopped to say hello, both Maggie and Harley were very polite and sociable , even , when a herd of collies turned up. Graham, Tina, little Eleanor and Jonny and of course Maggie will hopefully make the Kent dog walk on the 12th November. Maggie has certainly found the perfect home, I'm sure Harley can't wait to see her again. I will send photos to Jenny, hopefully she will post when she has a moment. Lovely day.

Thank you Jenny for posting pictures. The lady in the blue top and the guy with the back pack are a lovely couple out for a ramble. They couldn't resist saying hello to Maggie and Harley .

I'm not going to lie I'm a bit in love with Harley and grateful to him and claire for helping us find the confidence to let maggie off lead.
I Can't wait for the Kent walk. Maggie got a new dog tag today and I've got a new collar ordered. Now to Get her neutered and she can officially be a Lee family Pack member.

Maggie was so full of enegry this morning. Play bowing and wanting to run about but shying away from my attempts to play. Graham took her out to a field by the river. She was playing nicely with the ball and then graham said she just laid down and then bolted for home. She did the usual route home via the park and then was outside. Some people from The village called me so no harm Done but scarey none the less. My first lurcher - saluki cross was really nervous and used to do this. I'm looking at a secure field to hire The week after next so hopefully we can build up her confidence safely.

Also any tips. I really think it's likely her anxiety and she just spooked and went for home. Penny just learnt over time not to do this as she got more confident in different situations and with knowing and trusting us.
I've contacted some behaviourists - not because Maggie is extremely bad or anything but I wonder if there is something we should be or not be doing. But I also don't want to waste money when she may just need time.

On the plus side she obviously feels safe at home and she got a good run.
Poor graham must have had kittens
