Nettie is settling in well. My dogs were very gentle with her and accepted her very easily. She has a very placid character so wasn't at all threatening for my dogs. I had intended to take her to a groomer but her back end was so matted with flea dirt that I decided I couldn't wait until later in the week and I had to give her a bath. It took ages but she was so good. She just stood there and let me wash her without any fuss. Her nails need attention (as you can see from the photo) and her ears feel swollen so I'll get the vet to give her a full examination when I take her in tomorrow evening. Hopefully we'll be able to get her booked in for surgery on those glands without too much delay.
She's tired out now after the upheaval, and hopefully feeling more comfortable after her bath. Here are some photos of her looking very fluffy after her bath. Her back end is stained from all the licking she must have been doing because of the fleas, but the groomer I'm intending to take her to said that this should gradually grow out and she'll be white and fluffy all over. The mark on her head looks like it was a scratch or flea bite - not a wart as was initially thought. I've cleaned it up and hopefully the hair will grow over it enough so she just has a little pink mark.
In the bath
Horribly overgrown dew claws
She's looking a bit bewildered but much prettier with her nice clean white coat
