The two of them are having so much fun. They make a lovely couple and I still can't resist that lovely cheeky Leonard. Give him a hug from me.

What a fabulous space for lurchers to run and play. Lovely to see Lenny in action and enjoying himself.

Thank you for sharing the updates on Lenny. We were so sad that he didn't work out with our Marley, so of course we are soooper pleased to see that Lenny has found his forever home and has a lovely young playmate too. Glad he recovered from his illness, he is such a gorgeous hound.

Thought it time for an update on Lenny, and the 'gang'.... Lenny is still getting on famously with Maisie, a typical day starts a tad too early for our liking - as he decides around 6.30 that he's had enough rest....we've been playing the 'ignore' card, but it appears that Lenny is not the quickest on the uptake. He and Maisie go out first thing into the garden and one of other entices or starts off the play and chase...each winding the other up in turn. His energy levels are crazy high, seemingly a 30 minutes break or so and he's ready for the off again.....same with walks, he comes back flakes out and before we can drink a cup of coffee he's raring to play. His recall is great, mainly as I think he wants to follow rather than be a leader...plus he is massively food/treat oriented....if we make the mistake of letting him know that we have treats on a walk we have to prise him away from our side! He has a lovely quizzical look on his face much of the time as if to say ' i'm sure you told me this before, but what am i supposed to be doing'....unless its the 'D' word....seems that Dinner is a word that he has no trouble with! Maisie....well, in some ways she's a work in progress - in others she's a superstar. Having let her off the lead a few months back - only to have her return home 2 hours later we've been playing the long game with her. I took he through the local woods which are totally overgrown a month or two back and revisited coming from the other direction a few weeks back....on a long lead she knew where we were going and needed just an occasional ' no this way' to put her back on track. Which reminds me - Lenny, is a big girls blouse for a dog that's now living in the country. He hates the mud, doesn't want to get dirty and only catches up through a puddle when he realises that there's no alternative. As for undergrowth....he picks his way through it like a 3 year old on sharp stones at the beach. They've been loving the snow, have attached a couple of pics ( i hope ).....I decided to walk the pair of them alone and take the camera, so pop[ed them on a joined lead to give Maisie some freedom. The other old timers.... well sadly Willow outwardly is fine, but the vet confirmed last week that a growth she has is cancerous, it isnt affecting her yet...still wants to do the walks and has always been a lazy bones. Leika is getting a little wobbly, but game for a chase and then a snooze.... Diggy - well if he can't have a walk then there's a sulk! Lenny like walking and exploring with him and tries to get a reaction for some play, but Diggy shrugs him off as if to say 'grow up there's smells and things to explore'. The wood stove is used in some form of rotation by them all, barring Diggy who'd rather look wistfully out of the patio doors, probably dreaming about chasing a rabbit or the like.... right enough for now..... keep up the good work folks....

That was an enjoyable update Mark. I had to chuckle reading that Diggy was finally grown up!!! Does he still look like our Tag. We had just decided to keep Tag when along came little Diggy! That dog he did otherwise you would have had Tag! xx

Jenny, not sure of Tag retained his original colouring? I looked at a pic of 'young' Diggy a few days ago and he was quite light with pronounced spots/blotches.....he's been dark all over for years now,not sure when that changed....and poor old so and so went grey around the gills about 3 years back....next time will pop one of the others up too.....
