I hope you are not making him sit lots Barney, because that means lots of treats!! Nope - I'm making him sit lots because he's getting lots of walks to try & work off some of his excess energy, otherwise he's frequently flying round the home-kennel doing handbrake turns & generally creating chaos, bless him!

An update on the lad:
Chester continues to do very well - he had his final dose of Loxicom this morning, after the vet said that he didn't need to complete the seven day course. The medication obviously did its stuff, as he exhibited no signs whatever of being in any pain following his op. We've reverted to using the stairs instead of the lift, & he copes with them very well.
He's proved to be very strong on the lead, but his pulling tends to be towards inviting 'niffs rather than trying to charge forwards in search of excitement, & he does tend to settle a bit after the first few minutes of going out. We're working on this, going for 10 to 12 walks daily - apart from the first & last walks of the day they've tended to be short walks in view of the recent high temperatures.
Chester is a very active young boy, & now plays with all the toys & tennis balls, not just his favourite squeaky fluffy bone. Apart from my slippers regularly going walkabout most items in the home-kennel have remained in their designated place.
He doesn't suffer from separation anxiety, but tends to worry slightly when either of the girls temporarily disappear into the undergrowth in the park.
His sit is coming on, but sometimes his bum barely touches the floor before he bounces back up again! Again, this is summat we're working on.
Chester has a good appetite, & is well behaved at meal times. He also remains extremely affectionate.

Forgot to mention that I've been brushing him every day with a soft brush, which he enjoys, but he wasn't so keen on the hard brush, (almost like a curry comb), that I used on him this morning.

Barney asked me to post this recent photo of Chester. Maybe David or someone can enlarge it?

Thank you for posting the pic Heather, I'm very grateful. I'll try to get some more over to you today. Incidentally, PB keep sending me emails telling me my subscription has expired - considering I've not used their services for well over a year & don't intend to in future, they're wasting their time.
Chester continues to do well - he now sits on command when about to have his lead on, with no recourse to treats necessary. He thoroughly enjoys our excursions to the park, & has become, (marginally!), less excitable when out. Indoors he still has several manic five minute sessions with his toys, & the teddy bear is gradually losing its stuffing through the hole where its nose once was.
The lad is off to the vets tomorrow morning for a checkup, & will be going back for his second vax next week. After that, if he's still with us I'll hopefully be looking to see what his recall, (if any!) is like..............

I've cancelled chesters check up tomorrow as we have decided it's not required as Barney is doing a wonderful job and Chester is back at the vets next week anyway for his 2nd vacs.

Thanks for that Penny. Unfortunately, just after my last post I discovered that the decent scab that had formed over the wound on Chester's face following the op for the removal of the lump had been knocked off. I'm sure that it was accidental, as since the op Chester has been really good & hasn't attempted to interfere with the wound site. I cleaned it with a sensitive, alcohol-free baby wipe & applied some Aloe Vera gel, & it looks o.k. - I will of course continue to monitor it.

Fortunately after sending the lump for biopsy all results were clear of anything sinister. 😁

Many thanks again Heather - you're the answer to an old fogey's prayers.
The first pic nicely illustrates Chester's teeth following his descale. The one where he's having his breakfast shows how perfectly his coat colouring blends in with the kitchen decor.

Happily, Chester's op wound on his face has started to close up again nicely. I'm a great believer in the healing powers of Aloe Vera gel - I think 'tis magic.
