That's a surprise...and a nice one. It will probably be a longer road to recovery but in the long run, hopefully the better option long term.

Sending save GA vibes to the lovely Winnie and hoping her leg can be saved. But whatever the outcome, we know that Winnie will have the best treatment possible and her future will be bright. Thinking of Winnie today.

It wasn't her hock, but her knee. Anil says that if he can place it back in again and stitch it (similar to a cruciate repair) and she can be kept quiet and not run around for the net 6 weeks it may be saved. He is going to try today, and if it can't be done we will amputate. But we need to give her the chance.
Obviously she can't go to Fiona for fostering now a Dotty is such a Dot and would want to play with her. Penny can have her until next week, but I think we will need to find a quiet foster home for her. Now that's a task...

Spoken to the vet about an hour ago and he is pleased with how the op has gone. He has relocated and stabilised the knee joint in her back leg and will be under strict rest for a while. She is staying in at the vets tonight as she still very sleepy and the vet didn't want to try moving her until she's more alert. She will come home with me tomorrow to start her recovery but unfortunately due to my working hours I am unable to foster past Friday 11th (next week) so we need a quiet foster for her to go on to. (I was only ever a temp emergency) Please let Jenny know if you are able to help. X

That sounds like really encouraging news... I hope she can stay calm and let it mend over the next 6 weeks.

That sounds like really encouraging news... I hope she can stay calm and let it mend over the next 6 weeks. She's been very chilled here so far but that could of been the tramadol! She's clean, so far she hasn't barked and she doesn't even go to the door if someone knocks!

She's clean, so far she hasn't barked and she doesn't even go to the door if someone knocks! Sounds like there's a good chance of keeping her calm and relaxed while she mends. Keeping my fingers crossed!
