Sorry to leave you all to it on Friday. Michelle has promised to update the file when she can get her head around the forum.

Sasha will be coming up to me tomorrow. Sadly Valerie's girlie will not accept her. It could be because she is in season. Michelle has her at the moment, but that is not ideal, as Toffee is not castrated yet!!

Well done Michelle. There are so many needing rescue spaces at the moment, especially beautiful Staffies and we've helped two cream/fawn lurchers and a greyhound out of the Pound this week, plus an emergency home check. Must stop all this now though as we're taking the hounds on holiday so must get ready with all of their bits and pieces.
This will be Monty's first holiday with us up in Norfolk, away from the Watford fireworks! I got really mad on the drive home through some wee town as they're advertising their bonfire night is on Sunday 6th Nov., this is madness and should be stopped.

Huge thanks to Michelle and Phil for getting Sasha here today. Among the mayhem of a drive being done and coming down with tonsilitis we now have a bitch in season. Thank dog we only have wooden flooring downstairs. She has met the gang. Tag was interested but has left her alone and she is trying to find escape routes as I type. Luckily we have two doors to the front and two doors to the side and high fencing at the back. Little madam. But she is either out one end of it or not quite there as she is still spotting. Oh joy! She has a very even temperament and is obviously used to be kept with other dogs. The gang are staying aloof at the mo, except Mr. Tag, who wants to greet everyone new. They will all be fine by tomorrow night. Fed her in the office but no door closed and she ate quickly but not woofing it down, and then looked longingly at the others eating theirs. She likes a on the snout. x A few photos of the gorgeous Sasha.

OMG! She is a total poser isn't she! Beautiful....and boy does she know it! Hope all goes smoothly with driveways and hounds, and that your tonsillitis gets better soon.

She's a pretty girl alright! Hope the tonsils settle down MC, and that she's at the end not the beginning of her season. Well done to Mr Tag for trying to make friends too.

She has come on leaps and bounds. I slept downstairs the first night and Michael the next two nights with her as we have cream carpets upstairs. Last night he crept up and left her downstairs and she slept through without any mishaps on the floor. Held it until she got outside this morning. So we are cracking the house training easily. She was pulling like a train on the lead but we have introduced a martingale and two leads to the ordinary collar and the martingale and she has relaxed. I think she was probably walked on a slip collar, but I'm not chancing that yet. She has no food agreesion, but does gobble down her food and would muzzle in on the others, so she is fed in the dining room. They have all had chew sticks to take and eat and she has taken hers in turn and not tried to snatch anybody's treat. She has integrated easily with our pack and they have accepted her (No, I am not keeping her). When Sasha first arrived she was clearly fretting for Toffee, and I suspect that they were owned together before abandoned. But after 3 days she is so relaxed. She even goes off to her bed whilst I am working indoors. She loves Mim's little bed. Travelling is not a problem. Sasha just lies down in the back of the car. Today I took them all to the Country park. Tag and Annie off lead with Sofi and then Honey off lead. Sasha was quite happy to walk along with me. Annie disappeared with Honey for 10 minutes and Tag stayed close by with Sofi and Sasha. So she is easily walked in a large pack. I think she will bond quickly with her Adopters, and as she has been with a mixed pack will get on equally well with dogs or bitches. I'm not sure, being a Saluki mix that she would want to share with a big pack, but I think she would need one house mate. We have not tried letting her off lead, not intentionally anyway, but she has readily bonded with us. Especially Michael. So she may have had a bond with a male in the past. We never know what they go through, but the fact that she has easily integrated shows that she has lived indoors. She is being an all round lovely house guest.

So pretty. Sounds like she is an ideal dog ready to go as soon as she's spayed.
