I saw him on Facebook a couple of days ago and was totally struck with how much like my Vinnie he is. Same cross, same age, same wobbly legs and same wise eyes.... We were so close to offering him a home but knew we probably weren't quite right for him.
Thank you so much Carmel and SLR for allow Ben to enjoy his retirement.
Ben arrived her this afternoon on his way to Carmel of Greys 11. Carmel will be fostering Ben for life with all her Greys with our sponsorship. Looking at his teeth, he really does need a dental so that will be the first thing on the agenda. Thankfully, Ben is neutered. He is a lovely old chap with a really nice temperament. The Symmons pack greeted him, sniffed him all over and said, you're okay. And he is.
I will leave Carmel to update from time to time.
Some photos in the front garden this afternoon.
Saying goodbye to Kerry, who did the last leg of his transport run.
Saying hello to his new mummy, Carmel
Even though his legs wobbled, he still tried to play with Tag
He's just a lovely kissable boy
How gorgeous is that
A dog is a gift in life. Love and protect it. _________________
Ben is here and, as you have all noticed, he is absolutely gorgeous!! The poor boy was feeling quite stressed by the end of the day yesterday, having travelled most of the length of the country with the help of 3 lovely ladies called Joan, Kayleigh and Kerry (volunteers for Rescue Aid For Animals). He was rather overwhelmed when he met my lot (9 of them..... ) but I did the introductions one by one and they all accepted him readily into the family.
Ben has settled a bit more during the course of today, and I will post an update and some pics over the weekend.
I am grateful to Jenny and the Trustees for offering to cover the cost of any medical bills for Ben. They would not be able to do this without the ongoing support of all the SLR family so my sincere thanks go to you all too.
Oh, Ben loves cuddles so I'm off ............................. for some cuddles!!!
