We have decided on a name for this little beauti " Suki". She is still so very timid. She will take treats from us. Yesterday Ray gave her a bath and had to leave the shampoo on for 15 mins. She was shivering so he wrapped her in a towel , she did stay wrapped up on his lap and didn't struggle. But that was all the interaction Tonight when I came in Paddy and Dotty both came to the door so did Suki , but stayed back. We still haven't stroked her but she at least comes inside more now rather than going to the bottom of the garden. At this point it feels like she will never come to us. We are being very patient with her, letting her come to us , not crowding her. ( any helpful hints would be appreciated) She loves playing with Dotty, they play tug with a teddy. She is a typical lurcher, a right thief 😂 I had a drawer open so she came to have a look and stole a bag out of the drawer. Ray took a video of her playing with Dotty. I can't put it on so sent it to Jenny. Hopefully she can get it on.

I think Suki suits her. Poor little mite. I wonder why she is so timid? No real experience but you could sit on the floor and roll treats towards her getting closer to you, if you see what I mean. Make no eye contact. As you say, she has to make the decision to come to you. Good luck with her. She is so small and pretty.

Poor little girl, to be so nervous and shy at such a young age But she'll blossom I'm sure, such a beauty as well with those bambi legs!

Dogs learn best from other dogs so hopefully she will take her cue from Paddy and Dotty when they come to you for cuddles.

Ray came round to help with the pond today and she is finally taking treats from him. She won't take long to come out of her shell.
Suki is very red. I got a video from Fiona but have to wait for more internet to load it. x

Suki is spending more time indoors instead of at the bottom of the garden. She loves Paddy , sometimes I think Dotty is a bit rough and she doesn't like it. When I came home tonight all 3 dogs met me. I think she did copy Paddy and Dotty. When I sit down to eat my dinner she barks at me, she doesn't do it to Ray , just me. I will try to book her in tomorrow for her vaccs and see when she can be spayed ( maybe next week Thursday / Friday. I will be off then. Ray doesn't really like that bit.

If she is a foodie Fiona, use it to make a small trail leading to you. Obviously, making sure Dotty doesn't get it first. Also, pate on the back of your hand. Sit down, pate your hand and leave it dangling over the arm of the chair. Just read or watch tele and quietly tell her she is a good girl when she eats it. Then pate in the cup of your hand. She will have to spend time licking it off. xx

Each day she is getting a bit more interested in us. I had my first day off with her today. She is such a beautiful little one and is really funny. She gets a cuddly toy and really rags it. Then Dotty realises and takes it off her. When Dotty drops it Suki takes it back and do on. She eats all her meals but doesn't wolf it down. She still barks at me when I eat. I gave her a bath today with the shampoo from the vets. She didn't want to be bathed but she didn't struggle to get away. After her bath she goes all silly and gets Dotty to play. All was fine until Suki pinched the skin on Dottys neck one too many times and told her off. She didn't like that and went to Paddy. She is at the vets tomorrow to start her vaccs and see about booking her in to be spayed.

She sounds like she just needs a bit of time to find her feet. I expect she will gain confidence quite quickly once it all clicks that she is now safe and cared for. It sounds like Dotty and Paddy are both helping her too!

She's adorable and will learn a lot from your pack. I know from seeing how Olive is that socialisation at an early age is vital to how they handle life as they get older. Helping Suki experience a wide range of situations and interact with other dogs is going to help her so much. Well done for taking her in!

I am amazed that she is letting you close enough to bath her considering she was so scared of people when she was dropped off, it took me a good 10 mins + to get close enough to slip a lead over her head . She will be a lovely girly once she settles

lovely video...she is very pretty girl..well done for taking her on board...and good luck with all the patience..some doggies can take longer than others, but all will get there at the end... poor soul, I wander what experience she went through if she is so scared of humans. Its nice to see that she is happy with the doggie friends though..

This is a wonderful heart-warming thread <3 Suki will blossom in the care of her patient human beings. I so admire you giving her time and space to feel safe and the company of your 2 pack, helping her to learn & play. She's lucky to have you and will become confident and trusting in no time at all.
