Well quite a day for the doggie bunch as we decided that we would change our very large L shaped sofa in grey fabric for a leather sofa. Fed up with keeping all the dog hairs off, washing their blankets and washing the covers of the suite, so we found a second hand sofa and chair at a bargain price and they were delivered today. Our sofa went within twenty four hours so both Marty and me were on the floor yesterday (and not a drink in sight promise.) Well the dogs love it and it looks as though we will probably still be on the floor tonight.
Now back to our lovely Freya. She is so lovable and has settled very well. She is now much better on the lead and will just trundle along following the others. She loves everyone and greets our visitors with a welcome . She has certainly got her mojo back after her spay which you can see by the videos above. She seems to have lost that 1 kilo and you can now faintly see her ribs, so we can keep an eye on that. Guess all the running around has helped with that together with controlling her food. She will fit into any home but would probably like a playmate around or at least have some chums to run with.
More pics to follow.
Our next move is to change the carpet in the sitting room for a wooden floor. We have never had a house before where you come in from the garden (mostly muddy) and run straight into the sitting room. So hopefully after several years of having Lurchers we have finally learnt the best way forward to keep them and us happy. What we do for our doggie eh - wouldn't have it any other way.
She plays very politely and gently!!. How lovely. Leather sofas and wood and tiled floor here too. Will make your life a lot easier!. Glad Freya is so happy X
We took the cage down several days ago as it was taking up a lot of room in the Sitting Room and so the dogs had their normal beds to use. Last night was a breakthrough as Freya slept right through on her own downstairs for the first time. This meant that Marty and me were able to sleep in our bed instead of either of us sleeping on the sofa. (I know what are we like LOL). Hopefully tonight we shall have the same success.
A good walk yesterday until Freya decided to roll in fox poo wow does that stink and she was covered. Home and a shower later and all was well, she was very good and is obviously used to being washed. Would have made a funny video with Carol in her swimsuit in the shower washing Freya off, not sure who was wetter. Probably best not to have recorded that LOL.
Freya is a loveable girlie and loves her cuddles but is equally happy to be in her bed - she has now learnt that when she gets a bit over the top and we say Bed - she gets in it. Another one to cross off.
Marty tells me we are to attend the Fun Day - just coming up on the day. Not sure if Freya will still be with us, but if so we shall have five dogs to enter in some of the fun classes. Looking forward to catching up with everyone.
Freya sounds to be enjoying herself and settling into your routine. The shower bit made me laugh. We have a walk in shower that I use for dog bathing. I go with just pants and tea shirt cos I know I will get soaked!!!!!
Freya is a real sweetheart and now sleeps quite happily on her own downstairs. We did offer her a bed upstairs but she probably thinks it is too crowded with four dogs . She has now lost her pot belly and weighs in at 20 kilos, must be all the running around playing racey chasey in the garden. She is walking better on the lead, although we have not let her off yet. Waiting for the right opportunity when we are on the downs.
She is a lovable girlie and will come up to you and hug you, so sweet. She will cuddle close to you on the sofa too.
She sits now for her treats and will go to her bed when asked (maybe after one or two goes).
We would wish for Freya to go to a loving home where she will have someone around most of the time as she does like company. she will make someone a lovable companion. We wish we could keep her, but with four lurchers and a small house plus a caravan, it will be too much for one and all.
Great video. It's lovely to see them playing together. I've become a real fan of the white ones, especially when they are as pretty as she is. I hope it's not too long before her forever home comes along.
Yesterday we met Fran and Len, Malc and visiting Ann with all the dogs for a walk on the Downs. It was great to catch up with chums and all the dogs had a great time running about. Hopefully we will be able to do this again on Thursday before Anne and Esther return to the mainland.
The weather looks good for today so we shall probably have another good walk before it decides to rain again.
We met the lovely Freya yesterday for a walk over the downs, there were 11 dogs and she just took it all in her stride fitting in with everyone nicely. She really is a cracking little girl and will make someone a lovely companion
