Here's the missing photo. As this photo shows, as well as being a very handsome lad, he's also a sweet natured, bundle of fun. I love his expression. His training is coming along very well: *He is the best sitter in the house. He has a very solid position, and he's happy to hold it too. As you all know, some dogs find it tough (e.g. our Comet), but not so for Boris. *He recalls/comes to his name, and 9 times out of 10 this includes being called away from a distraction! Woo hoo. In fact, he's possibly also the most reliable of the 3 in that respect. *He understands the "wait" command I'm making good progress with the "look" [at me] instruction and also received a great tip from Annette on the last H&D walk that I'm going to start deploying when out & about. In the 3.5 months that he's been with us, he's chilled out beautifully. We're generally a peaceful household so that helps; however, I think it has also been invaluable for him that he has stayed in one place for a reasonable length of time. He's still a young boy (1 year +/- a few months either side), so I think this has been very important for his emotional development and general sense of wellbeing. Having 2 big bruvs and a host of doggy mates (@ daycare) will have been instrumental too. We've started leaving them on their own a wee bit to test the waters in that direction. It's very rare for their to be no-one around; however, occasionally this is necessary. As in all things, we've found Boris very responsive to consistency and praise/reward. On Thursday, I left them for about 3 hrs on their own and returned to happy dogs. They are contained by a dog gate in their doggy bedroom (aka a safe, familiar place). No sign of any fighting, soiling or destruction. Way to go boys!!

The lovely Boris joined the memorial walk for John (Walking with Dogot). He was very well behaved and had a lovely time with all the other hounds. He stayed with the pack when off lead and continued to show excellent recall. Here he is allowing me to take a pretty reasonable shot of him and some of the group:

Boris decided to take it easy at daycare yesterday. The owner has invested in a fab marquee, which is perfect for escaping the rain. Good job we're not fussy about the boys being on our sofa at home, given what they "learn" when away. Here he is (with Comet) looking very dashing: And making space for a couple of little doggy pals:

Lovely photos, is he really that big or is Comet small ? He is bigger than Comet, although it's definitely exaggerated by the photo with Comet curled up, versus Boris who is lying long.
