I am sure someone could foster for you til after Xmas. Christmas really isn't that far off, by the time he's been de-plummed, and had his vax's, been assessed very thoroughly...

Sorry, but you should really be looking. I think we have your dog here! To be blatantly honest! You could well be right but for various reasons it's difficult for us to do anything before Christmas At least go meet him Pete.............you were right the last time.............and I'd hate to see you both kick yourselves after............theres more to life than Christmas!

I agree with Mark. Don't let it be a "what if" situation. Worth meeting him and then you'll know

Hey guys. I agree with you all entirely; the moment I saw him I thought of Pete and Jean..... But let's not put any pressure on them even though we all mean it in the kindest way. We don't know what those 'various reasons' are and they may already be under a great deal of pressure for something else. We could be inadvertently squeezing them between a rock and hard place.
But I do think you should go and meet him Pete and Jean. Then you can tell me all about how gorgeous he is.....

Barney has no internet. All good with the girls, particularly Winnie, who he has cuddled up to. Barney said that he was a bit edgy on his walks today, and barked at another dog who was coming towards him. I had no problems when we got him out of kennels and an Akita x GSD was walking up and down next to him. I will try to walk with Barney at some point tomorrow and get some video. Bear with us as I have a hectic day tomorrow and Barney has no internet.

I am sure someone could foster for you til after Xmas. I am fully prepared to foster until after Christmas. Obviously if Barney can keep him up there I am fine with that too. Or... he can go with you Jean and I will doggy sit over Christmas?

Calm down Ro!! Yup, the boy is exceedingly handsome, but he's deffo not one for an inexperienced owner, (not for one moment suggesting that you're a member of that clan of course! ).
Whoever inferred to Jenny that Boris is other dog friendly must be from another planet! He's been fine with my girls, but not with any of the many dogs that we've encountered on our walks thus far. He hates cats with a real vengeance, & has been trying to catch woodpigeons & magpies at every opportunity.
He had a small accident within about fifteen minutes of entering his temporary lodgings here, but since then he's been absolutely clean indoors.
Boris has a good appetite, & eats much faster than the girls. He needs to learn some manners regarding waiting for his turn to be fed, but having said that, he does take treats very nicely.
He slept through his first night with no problem, & was keen to go out for the 5.30 a.m. walk.
The lad craves attention & is very affectionate. He also frequently seeks approval, which thus far he has often earned.

He reminds me of the Silken Windhounds we used to see sometimes at Sussex Longdogs, albeit he's a lot taller.
Very glamorous! And distinctive. You'd think somebody would be missing him?

Very glamorous! And distinctive. You'd think somebody would be missing him? Very true Jules, but mebbe whoever abandoned him couldn't cope with his other dog unfriendly behaviour after they'd failed miserably to socialise him?

I am not as experienced as many of you on here.

Boris again slept through the night, & getting tooled up for the 5.00 a.m. constitutional didn't faze him, in fact he was very excited & stood on his hind legs to put his ginormous front paws on my shoulders, summat he's keen on doing, as the muddy paw marks on my body warmer will testify!
The lad is extremely exuberant & quite vocal - hope he didn't disturb any of my elderly neighbours when he spied a cat as we returned home around 5.55 a.m., (some of them consider 11.00 a.m. as still being nighttime! ).
Boris is proving to be very affectionate, & I received a couple of very thorough face washes yesterday, together with several cuddles. He again ate a hearty breakfast, but I made him wait until the girls had their bowls in front of them. He finished off what they left in double quick time.
On the subject of food, Boris suddenly appears by my side whenever I open the fridge door, & I'm being very careful to leave nowt on the work surfaces for him to countersurf....................................

I just can't believe how like Rowlf he is. The pictures show postures and expressions that could be Rowlf. Paws on shoulders - yes, counter surfing - yes, reactive to other dogs - yes, etc. in other words a loveable gorgeous pain in the rear!!!
