Hi Everyone, Quite a busy day for us today! It started with our 'quiet' early morning walk becoming more of a meet and greet! There was P with Spot (a Collie), Gandhi (a miniature terrier - thought he might be problem, but it was fine!), Phoebe (an exuberant brown spaniel - Grace tried to teach her some manners) and Lily (an un-socialised and very vocal Chihuahua. Grace just ignored her). Then Y with Katie and Lalli (both Westies) - one of Jasper's favourites as she has fishy treats! Grace said hello very nicely. There was Cassie the Spaniel, TJ the LabX and Bertie the ancient Old English Sheepdog. She was admired by all, but was given her space by the people and coped really well with it all. By the time I got home this afternoon everyone was ready to go again. Wish I could have had a snooze, but no! There was frolicking in the garden, initiated by Grace, and lots of nagging about it really being time for another walk... The afternoon wander wasn't quite so busy, but we did see Thorn (a young black spaniel who Grace was fine with) and another Collie. We passed them twice and Grace even ventured to say hello to the humans the second time. This is Grace admiring the forest as the light started to soften on our afternoon walk: A zoom around the garden when we got home, a hearty dinner and now both are stretched out asleep! :-) Night Night xx

Thank you everyone for all your messages :-) Grace really is a sweetie pie! No end of people told me when I was considering getting a second dog earlier this year that it's not double the work, but quadruple. That's certainly not the case with Grace who has just slotted in nice and easily with our routine here. She seems so excited to be out on walks and we've had no problems meeting other dogs. Even meeting people has been less stressful than I'd been expecting. This morning we met Spot's pack again but other than that just a run of the mill morning stroll. Then it was chase in the garden this afternoon - not sure if you can see in this picture (must work out how to make then bigger: any tips?), but all of Grace's paws are off the deck: Lots of waggy tails and general playfulness! Then the weather got very dark and dreary for our afternoon walk on the Peddar's Way. Much less pulling on the lead when we're not in the woods (apart from when we stumbled across a hare!) but tiring enough from the looks of the sofa now: I hope you can pick her out against the blanket! Must work on my camera skills...

Its amazing how well Grace has slotted in and relaxed with you Claire. I must admit I was expecting her old fear issues to re-emerge, but she just looks so chilled out with you and Jasper.

Amazing how these dogs adapt. Whatever their history they know good people, Grace looks very happy and relaxed which must be a huge relief for Janine, thank you so much for helping her, I think we all have a soft spot for her.

Hello Everyone, Well, Grace continues to settle in well. She's stretched out on the sofa next to me, dreaming away! We've had a busy weekend, meeting lots of dogs and humans without too much trouble. We even met R with Enzo (Bolsoi), Sasha (Greyhound) and Porsche (Lurcher) today and Grace accepted a treat from R! I was so chuffed for her :-) Here is the lovely Grace admiring the sunset at the pastures this afternoon: Grace and Jasper have been getting on so well, it's hard to believe they've only been together for a week. Grace follows Jasper about the house and seems to look to him when she's unsure of a situation. The only thing seems to be that I need to get a bigger sofa if I'd like to sit on it:

Brilliant to see how settled Grace is...so, you need a bigger sofa, or you could just buy an armchair (if you have the room)!!

Its great to keep up with Grace's progress on here, and I'm so pleased that she and Jasper have become good friends. The fact that Grace is accepting treats from other humans is a tribute to your relaxed attitude with her Claire, well done.
