Fred needs to find a home from home or come into the Rescue before the middle of August. He is a lovely doglet who has been loved since he was a puplet. Unfortunately the family have decided to emigrate and they feel that at his age he would not do well with the travelling and containment that it would entail. They love him very much and want to see him settled before they leave for the hemispheres.
This is what they have to say about the lovely boy
.............................
Fred is very well behaved off the lead and will come back when called, he plays very well with other dogs and enjoys chasing and being chased. I have noticed he prefers smaller to medium breeds and puppies. He is wary of some breeds mainly bigger dogs especially if they haven't been neutered such as german shepherds and big bull terriers.
He likes to watch cats out the window and chase them out of our garden, which is strange because he used to live in a house with two cats and he was fine with them.
Fred enjoys his morning and evening walks which are mainly off lead.We take him around a common where he interacts with many other dogs and people. Many people always comment on how lovely he is and how fast and nimble he is when being chased. He loves to run through the long grass and jump into the creek on hot days. He is relatively good at fetch although you have to throw the stick behind you otherwise if you throw it in front he won't bring it back and will just wait until you have caught up with him!
Fred spends the rest of his day dozing on his bed and going out to our secure garden through his own dog flap to have a trot around and stick his nose through a hole in the fence to smell next doors rabbits. He also has a playtime when I get home from work and enjoys catching a tennis ball or playing with his stick toy. He likes to sneak into our bedroom in the morning and I have woken up to Fred trying to get under the covers for a cuddle. In the evening he chills out on the sofa enjoying an ear tickle and for some weird reason trying to lick my feet.
He is very fit and well but the vet has advised me that he could lose a little weight and that's mainly because he clears up the food that my one year old drops from her high chair....ok and because I give him leftover roast chicken.....and the fat trimmings from a gammon steak. I know it's wrong but you should see the face he makes!
The thing I love most about him is how he accepted my daughters into the pack, he loves to be around them and sits on the end of my daughters bed while she has her bedtime stories. My youngest who is 1 will try to ride him, pull his ears and grab his tail and Fred just ignores her or goes outside.
I could go on forever but the truth is I think he is awesome,!he has done nothing wrong. I genuinely don't want to leave him but when I think about what is best for Fred and not for me then I believe that this is the right decision.
He will be an amazing addition to another family. I hope you can help find him one.
And here is the lad himself.
He is such a lovely lad who will just settle in so well with a family.
