We had a call from a chap who had taken Bambi from a bad situation and could see that she was more than flat, that she was ill. We got her into our SLR Vets in Berkshire and for the last 4 days she has been receiving treatment. Bambi has rallied and the worst is over. She finally came out this afternoon into the arms of her foster mum Christine. She is thin, is bewildered, but is safe and will get nothing but the best until she is rehomed. An absolute stunning poppet. Bambi will not be rehomed until she has received her vaccinations, and that could be a few weeks yet as she has been on anti-biotics. We are not taking applications just yet either. Bear with us, follow her story and I am sure some stunning photos will come from Christine as she unfolds and shows her true saluki character.

I'm doing my best not to pay too much attention to her so she doesn't suffer with separation anxiety. So far she has been an absolute poppet. Very friendly and wiggly but not at all overbearing. She is going to make someone a lovely companion as soon as she has her vaccinations sorted out and is ready for rehoming

Bambi looks a million times better than the first pic we have. Can't wait to see how she comes on in Christine's care. Onwards and upwards is the only way for you now, little lady. Please plant a big on that bonce from me.

What a difference from that very sad little scrap now a gorgeous poopie with four white tootsies. Jenny when the time comes you are destined for a balcony seat upstairs (with beverage holders). In total awe of the selflessness of fosterers like Christine and Janine. Really looking forward to following this poopie's thread.

More photos and a video of little Bambi. I can't tell you how cute she is. She's got that cheeky puppy character but is being very respectful of my 3 dogs. Alice is the one most interested in her and is starting to want to play but it's a bit overwhelming for Bambi and she tends to run to me for reassurance... as you can see from the video. She's discovered the sofa already so we had a nice evening of cuddles and she is fine getting into her crate to sleep. We had lots of crying but she eventually settled and didn't make a noise again all night. I took her out for a pee around 5am (my normal time to make a cup of tea) and then back into her crate after some gentle running around with me in the kitchen. After a few cries she settled again - she can see the other dogs from her crate and I think this helps reassure her. She's picked her spot to pee outside and so far no accidents indoors, although there has been one poo but that was near the back door. I think this little girl is already used to relieving herself outdoors so it won't be long before she can hold herself long enough. I'm taking her out every time she wakes, plays and eats and she instantly pees when she gets to "her spot". She's a very affectionate, playful and friendly little girl. She likes playing with a ball but loves cuddles and attention even more - when I get down on the floor to play with the ball with her she just wants to jump all over me, it's very cute. Here's the photo fest: You can see how thin she is in this shot, but she's eating really well and is loving the chicken and rice I'm giving her. ... and this is a video of her doing that gangly puppy run and being a bit overwhelmed by Alice. She came running at me on the sofa but couldn't quite make it up so I had to give her a helping hand.

Lovely Bambi pics and a video to start the day . She is just soooo adorable and happy too. I could just cuddle her all up What a transformation in a short space of time. Love how she ran to you Christine, trusting you already. Cant wait to see how she blossoms and gets some meat on those oh so boney bits bless her. Sounds like she is in very good hands with you.
