We are helping Monty's owner to rehome him from is own home. Sadly his owner has a diagnosis of osteoporosis, and this together with arthritis and cataracts mean she is struggling to give Monty the attention and walks he most definitely needs. His mum has written an intro for Monty below.... Monty has been part of our family for just over three years. Although we have no young children we regularly have my nieces children with us and Monty has always enjoyed their company. He is extremely playful should they get excited but I imagine that would be the case with any dog. He is perfectly sociable with other dogs and is always keen to play. His play with smaller dogs has to be monitored due to rough play but we have not seen him be aggressive to other dogs during his time with us. He very much enjoys his walks and will play happily with a ball. The offer of an occasional small biscuit is always welcome as reward. We have been able to let him off although we are selective in where we do this. He loves to run very fast and is a very powerful dog when in full flight. We like to allow him a good run as he seems to need it. He does not suffer with separation anxiety and we have been able to leave him after having a walk and his breakfast or supper. He is very good in the home and has never been destructive. He does not like cats and I have found it wise not to leave food on work tops if we are going out. He is very good when we take him into pubs, cafes etc. always attracting a huge amount of fuss from people wherever we go. Monty is a gentle boy who loves people.

More info on this gorgeous lad. He is in London, near Hampton Court, wild deer territory. He watches but has not taken up deer hunting! He is child friendly. They have a 5 year old neice who visits and a 7 year old nephew and he loves them. He sleeps in the kitchen. Does not display Separation Anxiety when they go out. Is in superb condition. His owners both feel that they are not the right home for him with their limited ability to walk distances and want to see Monty have some fun.

Reminds me a bit of Dave and Jane's Woody. Same colouring, but slighter build.

Monty still looking for the right home. A very loving lad who very much likes his own breed but will play happily with other breeds. We have let him off the lead quite a bit and he can be trusted to a certain extent. We have felt it important for him to have that funny five minutes that lurchers and greyhounds seem to love. Running very fast, leaping high and also chasing his ball. He is good with children and really enjoys their company. We have a relatively small garden and we feel he would benefit from a larger one if possible. Loves the beach, pub, trips to friends and all. I do leave him but try not to overdo this as he loves to be with you. Very happy to chat to anyone who thinks they might be able to offer Monty a loving home.

Monty went to his new home last week. His relinquishing mum kindly took him over to his new family. Things are going really well, and he has been having some fun with a new friend in the enclosed field. New mum Charlotte has sent me a photo of Monty chilling. Well done Cathy, for all the hard work in making sure you made it happen. xxx
